Help! I am trying to make some covers and I don't know how.

Hello, I recently bought a new computer and it has far more capabilities than my old one so I figured I would give this custom cover thing a shot. I am using adobe 4.0. I don't know if this does not have the capabilites I need but I am having trouble resizing scanned images. I read somewhere that you want to create a template to start. If this is true I can't even figure out how to do that. Anyway, if there is anyone out there that takes pride in having a student I would love to learn. Please email me at [email protected] to follow up with this, unless whoever replies would like to share with the masses. Anything to get me started. Thanks

I'm at work right now, but I wish you luck. I assume you are talking about Photoshop 4.0? If so, it is just as powerful as any of the newer releases. I learned on 4.0. The only differences are that the newer releases make certain tasks easier, plus there are more filters and changes of the like.

For example in photoshop 5.5+ one click of the mouse and you can have yourself a nice drop shadow. In 4.0 - you have to duplicate the layer, fill it black, move it to desired location, gaussian blur, and modify the opacity.

So 4.0 is fully capable, the newer ones are just more streamlined.

I'm sure someone can post template sizes for our new member.
