Could someone please explain to me why there is a major category here
in DVD Talk dedicated only to cases, covers, and inserts? I dont get it.
Seems like something seldom or rarely ever needing ANY disscussion. I must be missing something here.

If you look at the number of posts... That should answer your question. This is one of the few forums on DVDTalk I visit. No reflection on DVDTalk of course... There's just so many hours in a day.

This was the starting place for the cover replacement community, which led to all the spin-offs that exist. Plus, OTOH, moviefan2k4 doesn't post here, so it's a safe and sane place to come.

I just love this thread! I find it very interesting when people make covers themselves because the original cover is not of their taste.

Most of us here enjoy designing and printing our own covers and that probably constitutes about 95% of this forum's activity. The other 5% is actually devoted to talking about covers and inserts in general. Try perusing a few of the threads here, and maybe that will help give you a better idea of what it's all about.

There are also those who are replacing thier covers/packaging for various reasons(damage, snapper cases, space considerations, whatever). Plus, some of the custom work is worlds better than what comes out of the studios.
