slipcovers every where

What is with this trend with putting slipcovers on every DVD release. every DVD I bought yesterday had a cover. Do we really need all this extra package? I would rather just have an insert with chapter listings and production notes. most of these slipcovers just reproduce the cover art anyway.

i think its to make the product look more appealing, even though most of us are going to buy it anyway, although i do tend to like them. what i dont like is how they can get damaged easy in the boxing and unboxing process so i have to spend 10 minutes going through everyone to get a soild mint one if its there. im anal i know.

Everything I bought yesterday also had a slipcover. The cover on Daredevil was very very tight and it is a pain to get the case out.

Yeah, Daredevil was a pain, but i like the way slipcovers look, even if it is just a reprint of the cover. Besides, if you don't like it, you can just toss it

I like that Elf came with a slipcover, since now I can give my mother in-law the Fullframe disk and put it in an empty case with the slipcover. $20 saved on X-mas gifts

I like em. If your not gonna give me an insert, then give me a slip cover.

It boggles my mind that Studios are willing to waste the paper (cardboard?) on SlipCovers but can't include an insert with chapter listing anymore.

I still prefer Warner Brother snap cases, they are the best.

I was thinking this same thing the other day when I picked up DodgeBall. The only way I think the slipcover thing works is in a case like Once Upon A Time In Mexico or some of the Artisan SEs, where the slip and case cover art are two completly different covers.
