Need help in creating my own covers.

I need help in creating my own DVD covers for some DVDs that a friend made for me.

My photo program uses Pixels as a unit of measurement.

How many pixels = 1 inch?

What are the exact measurements for the following. Measurements are for standard Keep Cases.

Front cover art, height and width.
Spine height and width.
Back cover art height and width.
Total cover, height and width.

Using 8.5"x11 inch paper, and tips on printing to that.

I've tried simple artwork and the printer automatically prints about 2 or 3 inches from the edge and cuts off some of the coverart. There is no way to change margins on the printer directly as far as I can tell.

Some other post said something about taping paper on the back of the paper you're printing on. Question: How much paper do I tape onto the edge to get it to print the cover completely on the paper?

I'm not looking for professional quality, but just to fit into the keep case sleeve without anything missing or the paper not filling in the sleeve completely.

Thanks for any help.

Open a new document 3240 wide x 2175 pixels high at 300 dots-per-inch.

Create vertical guides at 1535 and 1705 for your disc spines.

Spine width would be 170 wide x 2175 high.

Front and back covers would be 1535 wide x 2175 high.

It's recommended you buy a pack of high-quality legal-sized paper and print at 100% scaling, landscape orientation, centered on the page. Set your printer quality to suit the paper. It's hard to find legal-sized glossy paper. I use bright white heavy matted paper.
