Hey, this thread seems to be dead... so I'll chime in:

I can confirm 2 Fast 2 Furious does not come with an insert.

Hulk has no insert.

Rescuers, The (Disney) has no insert.

Finding Nemo DOES have an insert, a very pretty one!

Thanks to the OP, this thread is a good idea!

Just got my copy of the Criterion "Third Man" and it didn't have an insert, which surprises me a little. Did anyone get an insert with this? And if so, is there a way to contact them about it?

Yes, every criterion has an insert, including the Third Man.

This is really odd. I just received a copy of Criterion's "The Third Man" from DVDEmpire.com as well and there was no insert in there either... All the other Criterions I have do have inserts. I've sent an email through the support page on their website, will see what they say. If anyone has any other suggestions in obtaining that insert, it would be highly appreciated...

Thanks,

-Parin

It's not just an insert, but a booklet that contains an essay about the production.

Dang.

I understand that Universal stopped including inserts on new DVDs, but does this apply new pressings of older DVDs, as well?

I bought 12 Monkeys today and it did not come with one. Should I return it, or not?

Thanks.

The ones I responded to I own myself. So I guess I get it from personal experience.

And the other one, well, I don't have the disc, so I don't know.

mordecai,

My Twelve Monkeys has an 8-page booklet (two sheets stapled together and folded in half) talking about trivia from the production.

I don't know if Universal has stopped adding booklets to re-releases, although the TM: CE was on moratorium for a long time. Is the new release the same as the old one in every other way?

Same cover, features, etc.?

Cover is the same. Since Universal does billingual on new releases here in Canada, I would expect a aesthetic overhaul in new pressings to include this... but it doesn't. Similarly, a chapter list is not included anywhere on the back cover; is this something that is done now that inserts aren't included (it does say that in one thread pertaining to Lion's Gate, I believe)? Same features, too.

Do any newly released films have inserts anymore?

Sheesh. It may make better sense to have a "These Films Have Inserts" list.

Seabiscuit does not have an insert, which is again another recent Universal film. It seems Universal is not putting inserts in newer batches of old titles as well!

I got Anything Else from CH today and it did not have an insert. I'm guessing it's supposed to since no one has listed it - maybe the fact that there were no security stickers and a weird case has something to do with this. Confirmation either way greatly appreciated.

-----------

Also: How To Get Ahead In Advertising (MGM) did not come with an insert (it had security stickers & a normal case though).
