Well, it'll take me 2 seconds to change the highlight colors, so wait till I post all 4 finished covers together and see if you like them....

Definitely use the blue version for Aliens. That's the color of the original poster art, and the color I've always associated with the sequel. The green just doesn't fit (reminds me of the horrid toxic green color used for The Fog dvd cover..completely out of place).

And, DV are you using the LD coverart for Alien 3? That was way cool.

I've never seen the cover for the LD....I'm using the coverart that came on the original R1 release. "Curled up Alien Queen artwork"
Are they the same?

Alien3

Alien Resurrection
All that's left is to update the spine logos and add pics to the backs.

Well I've decided to make the switch from Corel Photo-Paint to Adobe photoshop. I'm going to put my current Alien covers on hold for now until I get a better grip on adobe. There are some things I can do to make these covers even better than I can with Corel.

I wouldn't know, it was a gift from my father. He upgraded to photoshop 7 and gave me his old version of 6.

Nor would I, but a copy of Photoshop 7 mysteriously appeared on my hard drive one day, so I clicked on it. Oh well

I think that the green one's match the actual movie better than the blue, but I tend to like the blue one better..^^;

DV, could you make a Five Star Collection template that's sized for an Alpha double? I tried just resizing the spine, but the problem is that the background doesn't quite match. On your single-sized version it looks like you made the background pattern as one full layer for the front, spine & back (all the little lines run together perfectly). When I try resizing or painting in the pattern in, it makes the spine look slightly inconsistent with the rest of the cover. Could you possibly whip one up for me that is sized for an Alpha double? You can mail it to me at [email protected] whenever you like. Thanks.

Matt @ DvdCoverart.com is working on 5 star templates for most of the various case sizes. He should have them up soon for free download. Unless my information is incorrect...

I've decided not to do a matching set of Askewniverse covers. I can't really think of a good theme to use, so if anyone wants to step in, do so.
I am working on an idea for a matching set of covers for a great (IMO) Trilogy, soon to have a 4th film. Not Indiana Jones either.

Actually, the films need a nice box and not themed covers. Considering that different studios put out some of the movies in the "series" i think its better that the movies retain thier different look. A box with Jay & Silent Bob or a map of Jersey on it is all thats really needed to tie the movies together.

What trilogy? not BTTF is it?
