Finished Alien Legacy Cover #1

Here's the first one from the Alien Legacy Covers I finished so far. (The Green "Special Features" is blended alot better than this low-res image)

Godfather Collection

Here's the Godfather Collection cover I made for a 5 disc Alpha case. I liked the 2 on DVDCoverArt, but I wanted to do one myself. The only things that are used (scanned) from the originals are the 3 pics and the UPC, everything else has been created so it all looks really crisp when printed.

Darth that Godfather case looks beautiful.

I actually edited the single GF covers that are on DVDcoverart (added Godfather title on the spines, and made the cover pics look black and white. Also made credits a light gray)

Thanks Joey!

Those Godfathers you describe sound pretty cool. Any chance you could post a pic so I could see them? I think they would look alot better black and white like you did them

I'd like that one on a cover as well.

I have that poster and i love it millions times better than the other one with Ripely & Newt.

Cant wait for the Askewniverse covers as well.

Perhaps a box for the movies?

I am so glad that your "Special Features" Section isn't going to be to complicated to change. With the new 9-Disc set coming a slightly modified version of your covers will fit them perfectly.

I did them with that intention. Everything on the cover is still very editable, so when the new ones come out it'll be easy to adapt them for the new versions.

I'm submitting it to DVDCoverArt.com. My email has been giving me trouble sending large file attachments lately.

Here's a pic of the new set coming this year. I wish I had a peek at the covers...oh well.
I'll be adapting these current Alien covers for the new set, and possibly changing the front cover images depending whats on these.....Should be interesting.

Yes, I agree. So would it bother anyone if only one of the films had a blue highlight and the others were all green? The 1st, 3rd and 4th Alien films don't look right with the blue tint, I tried it already.
Let me know so I can finish them up.

DV: Looking good...I wouldn't mind 3 green and one blue...I'm just still fairly impressed with them overall...Definately a good idea.

I thought the same, but figured it would look gay...

Especially for a Sci-Fi/Horror type series.

Ok I came up with this idea.
Alien: Green
Aliens: Blue
Alien3: Light Green
Alien Resurrection: Hunter Green

That way they are all a little different.

darth,

Interesting ideas on the color schemes, but I thought I'd offer my own ideas.

Each movie has it's own color palette (key colors the director and DP chose to feature in a film) that you can draw from.

- Keep the green you have for Alien. It looks great that way.
- Blue for Aliens. The movie has a lot of it.
- A deep yellow or orange for Alien 3 (the movie had rust, metal, lava)
- Alien Resurrection is a tough one, but I'd suggest an off-white to match the color of the Newborn or try looking at the film again and see what colors are repeated. (I can check my disc if you want and let you know what I think as I haven't watched it in a while.)

Great stuff!

Gary
