List of Pan & Scan/Widescreen releases on same disc?
Hey all,
Just wondering if there was a list somewhere of all the movies that were released with P&S/WS versions on the same disc?
Just curious...anyone have one?

Well...to be honest...I'll explain my purpose.
A lot of times, we have widescreen on one side and full screen on the other side. Or we have both on the same side and it's dual layered.
In any case, there are times where other regions will release the same disc with JUST the widescreen all on both layers. And I was wondering if we could create a list of what was available for both. I guess that this should be in international forum but I figured it would be easier to start here.

You can download a region 1 list from here:
http://www.hometheaterinfo.com/dvdlist.htm
( I use the MS Excel Format). In Excel, select Data>Filter>Auto Filter
Drop down Boxes will appear, Column "F", you can select the versions you want to display.
I don't know of any other region 2+ lists.

Craig,
Try going here and then on the right side, click 4:3/LBX/16:9 and leave everything else blank. That will bring up a list of 1099 dvds that have both.

*I* was never talking about discontinuing this practice. I never brought it up and I'm not interested in it so let's drop it.
Paramount has done it before with Top Gun. Not sure if they've done it with any others.
In any case, the whole point of this was to find out which ones were released here with both on one disc and only had widescreen released on one disc in other regions.
For example, here Phone Booth was released with WS/P&S on the same disc. In other regions, they got JUST the widescreen version on both layers (which would leave room for better compression) and a making of documentary.
This is happening with a lot of discs and their overseas releases.
