WB Noir box-set - which B&Ms will have it?...

... and for how much?

I'm pretty sure stores like Target & Wal-Mar will most certainly NOT have this - I'm pretty sure Best Buy even won't.

But the stores that will have it (Borders / Tower), will have it at full retail.

So what stores (if any) will carry this on Tuesday, for below retail?

If Best Buy carries Blue Underground titles, I don't see any reason why they would not carry this & under MSRP.

BB has never carried the previous WB box sets (Legends, Marx Bros., etc.) - even when they get them in (which is rare) they never get them in on release day.

Costco has definitely had several of the WB box sets in the past and at competitive prices.

Well, it's not even listed in Costco's web-site, so I doubt they'd have it in store - especially since they only have a small precentage of the stuff from their site in their actual stores - so if it's not in the web-site, it for sure will NOT be in the store.

I picked up my Marx set there...on release day, but have a bad feeling about the Noir sets. if I went into BB in the morning looking for Noir, I'd be wasting my time. they might get it in sometime next week or month. to hell with waiting. all my Noir titles have been pre-ordered and should arrive tomorrow or the next day. I'll leave the stressing out for someone else.

again, just a gut feeling.

I don't know, maybe I have a better Best Buy. Mine definitely carrires the Marx DVDs, & Best Buy has the new Noir set on their website listed as coming out tomorrow.

I've found many titles I've wanted on the site as "coming out tomorrow"...they just seem to never arrive on time or at all at my store. my BB sucks eggs.

Why hassle with Worst Buy on this? Their pricing isn't all that good with the various Warners sets. On-line prices are usually much better; the Noir set can be had under $35 from the likes of Amazon.

If you must go the B&M route, check the warehouse stores. Failing that, Borders (at least in my area) sometimes has good opening week pricing.

I went to BB during lunch and they had about 15 of them in the Kennesaw, GA one. Not bad at all. Marked at $35.99 I believe.

EDIT: It was actually marked at near $50 (I remember thinking I was saving nearly $20 ordering from Amazon+STL) because there was no special or anything. (I was getting this and Batman confused.)

My BestBuy had it, but $50 is a rip-off, I'm getting it on-line.

yeah, BestBuy at $50 here, that's list price, for god's sake. Taking advantage of those who see it's cheaper per disc than the single disc releases.

just for kicks...I went into BB today to pick up Butterfly Effect(everyone here talked me into it), and I checked for new Noir titles, even though I pre-ordered on-line for all of them. yes...they had the Warners collection...about 12 copies. now if I had to count on BB having all of them...I'd be hurting. they had none of the other titles, like The Big Clock, Criss Cross or This Gun For Hire. nor did they have the other Noir collection...Killer Classics. in fact...the BB computer said that most of these were not coming in locally. isnt that nice?

something like 9 Noir titles didnt make it here to the sticks. thank God for the Big Brown Truck and overnight shipping.

now I'm confused. did 5 Film Noir Killer Classics come out just today? or as Amazon says....it came out March 9th? this is the set with D.O.A./Detour/The Stranger/Scarlet Street and Killer Bait. if it's older, it's a surprise that it's not submitted at dvdaf. funny that this would have slipped by me.

5 Film Noir: Killer Classics has been available for a while. I guess people's online searches for "film noir" brought some attention to the set.
