Originally posted by SRGilbert Still, with my own apologies to Daniel, why would someone who apparently "never watch(es) TV" even bother to post regarding the subject? I personally can't stand anime, but far be it from me to go into an anime thread and start crapping on it! Garlandtaylor, you're far too sensitive. You'd think a person with your handle and an admitted penchant for the Golden Girls would have thicker skin by now. Surely Daniel's not the first guy to crack wise on your tastes. Heck, isn't that part of the fun of sharing your collection with this online community, to see what other people are into, even if it is something you think is absolutely wretched (whether it be Jason Voorhees or Bea Arthur)? Daniel doesn't like Golden Girls? So don't invite him to your Mt. Olif theme party, problem solved. Personally, I wear my love for the Young Guns movies on my sleeve, in spite of their reputation for being crap. I've heard all the comments, all the cracks, but I don't give a shit. At the end of the day, I'm just happy watching Lou Diamond Phillips playing the mystical Chavez y Chavez. A few naysayers aren't going to ruin my fun. In fact, I use it as a sort of potential-friend-litmus test when I meet new folks. If they don't like Young Guns, who needs 'em? Certainly not me. As far as TV on DVD... anyone else holding out for the "Young Riders" box sets? |
x-files and the simpsons were definitely big, but lets not forget Band of Brothers! huge success in the dvd format.

Ummm Sopranos started it all.

No, X-Files was a huge DVD success even before the Sopranos was available on disc.
The X-Files was probably the first successful TV-on-DVD full season set available. |
