TV Shows you own - Are you keeping up?

I tell you it's not easy. I currently own:

Alias: Seasons 1&2 - viewed both
Babylon 5: Seasons 1-5 - viewed 1-3
Band of Brothers - viewed once
Beatles Anthology - viewed once
Farscape - Seasons 1-2 - not viewed
Firefly - Complete Series - just received, not viewed
Freaks & Geeks SE - currently on Disk 4
Monty Python Entire Set - about half but haven't seen in 2yrs+
Outer Limits: Seasons 1&2 - about half of Season 1
Star Trek: TNG Seasons1-7 - currently on Season 6
Twin Peaks - Season 1 - viewed (would buy S2 if released)
X- Files: Seasons 1-9 - viewed 1-8

Plan to buy: Alias Season 3, Babylon 5:The Movies,
Millennium Season 1, History of Rock & Roll

Of course this doesn't count new movie releases, catalogue releases and anything else I have in my unwatched pile. I try to rotate between movies and TV shows. With TV Shows, I now rotate between 2 shows at once (way back when I started with the X-Files Season 1, it was no problem). After I finish with Freaks and Geeks I probably start X-Files Season 9 and after STNG I'll go to B5 S4. Maybe this year I'll get to Farscape and Firefly (before the movie comes out).

There seems to be no end in sight. Not that I'm complaining. I really like being able to view a program when I want to in a superior viewing and listening setting. The shows look great on my 64" widescreen. I don't watch regular TV much anymore except for news and some sports. If it wasn't for DVD I would probably have never seen Alias and found out what a great show it is. I purposely have not watched any of Season 3 until it comes out in Sept. Same can be said for Band of Brothers.

I do have trouble keeping up with the backlog but I'm happy as a pig in Sh*t.

Anyone else have the same "problem"?

* edited to add X-Files. They are kept behind the glass in my audio cabinet to give them added protection and I blanked on them.

I gave up on the Simpsons sets and just have seasons 1 and 2. I'm keeping up with Friends. I wish I had the money for the Twilight Zone set.

I wouldnt mind having some episodes of say Laverne and Shirly or Mork and Mindy that are coming out, but I dont really want a whole season.

As for watching, I always watch my favorite episodes from the season sets and sometimes I will just put in season sets while working on the weekend here.

Alias: Seasons 1 and 2
Simpsons: Seasons 1 and 2
Family Guy Vol. 1
What's Happening: Season 1
Dark Angel: Season 2
Transformers: Season 1

I wish the Transformers sets weren't so expensive, or I'd keep up a little better. Definately behind on the Simpsons and Family Guy which I do plan on picking up sometime in the future.

Future pickups:
Alias Season 3
Dark Angel: Season 1 (now that its cheaper)
Simpsons: Seasons 3/4
Family Guy Vol. 2

The only set I haven't watched is Gilmore Girls S1 and that's because I just got it last week. I'll be starting Batman: TAS next week which will be cool. Otherwise I'm all caught up buying wise and watching wise with:

Alias S1&2 (S3 is preordered)
Alien Nation
B5 S1-5 (will buy the movies the minute they're released)
Buffy S1-6
Firefly
Highlander S1-4 (S5 is preordered)
Homicide S1-4
Rocky & Bullwinkle (S2 is preordered)
Sex & the City S1-6 pt1
Six Feet Under (S2 is preordered)
Sports Night
Star Trek: DS9
Star Trek: TNG
Transformers S1-4
West Wing S1&2
X-Files S1-9

I only have a few episodes of ST:TOS but that's by choice so there'll be no more buying of that particular show.

Over the last year, it's become nearly impossible to keep up. The 15th of this month is the perfect example, as it seems so many TV shows get released on one huge day as of late... To recap, the following titles I wanted to buy came out on June 15th:

Sealab 2021 Vol1
Monk Season 1
Dead Like Me Season 1
Simpsons Season 4
Curb Your Enthusiasm Season 2
Nip/Tuck Season 1 (Vague interest in buying, never seen the show, but figured for the right price, I'd pick it up)

Include theatrical releases that came out on the 15th, which thankfully was limited to 50 First Dates for me, and you simply can't keep up. The best prices are the first week, so if I don't get it the first week, I'm not likely to pick it up for a long time. Bottom line: As these "Super Tuesdays" become more and more frequent, and for some absurd reason releases are not spread out over time, I'm going to get further and further behind.

From just June 15th, I only picked up/could afford to pick up Dead Like Me and Monk (Limited to those two titles mainly because I spent quite a bit on theatrical films at DDD that week due to 20%.) On the bright side, I can thank whoever schedules these assinine releases for budgeting my TV on DVD collection.

With that rant over... Shows I'm up to date on:

24
Aqua Teen Hunger Force
Penn & Teller: Bullshit
Clerks
The Critic
Dark Angel
Dead Like Me
Dead Zone
Dilbert
Felicity
Firefly
Friends
Insomniac with Dave Attell
Monk
Spaceghost, Coast to Coast
Stargate SG-1

Shows I'm not up to date on:

Angel Season 3+
Buffy Season 6+ (Not planning on buying the US release. Non-anamorphic Once More with Feeling = I'll pick up the UK releases of Season 5 (Replacing my US set) through 7 eventually)
Coupling Series 3
Curb Your Enthusiasm Season 2
Futurama Vol 2+
King of the Hill Season 3+
Sex and the City Seasons 1-5
Simpsons Season 4
Smallville Season 2
Sopranos Season 4
South Park Seasons 3+
Stargate Season 6
X-Files Season 2, 4, 8 and 9

Add to that shows I still want to get on DVD that I haven't even started yet... Too many to even bother listing.

Easy for me to keep up. I loathe TV, it's a very rare show that I buy & for me to like a TV show, then it's definitely worth keeping up w/. I literally do not understand at all how people can buy so much TV on DVD.

I have Farscape (only in box set form, there are only 2 out so far), Alias, Mr. Show, & The Simpsons. that's it & I'm up to date on all of them.

Shows I own :

Angel: s1 - s3
Buffy: s1 - s4
Dead Zone: s1 - s2
Clerks Animated
Beast Wars: s2
Farscape: s1
Spawn Animated
Trigun

While I haven't watched every episode of these shows on DVD (most of them) I feel I'm up to date. These are all shows I've watched on TV or other means and loved (except for Spawn, I remember that being better). I enjoy being able to watch an episode here and there of the shows.

Eventually I plan to pick up a bunch more shows (and even more still if shows that have yet to get the dvd treatment finally get some love) for this is my favorite aspect of dvd's.

I agree. I just can't see why people buy sets like Married With Children and shows like that. Those would be the very last sets in the world I'd buy. But then again, I have come to loathe sitcoms and/or coming of age type shows.

The only TV series I buy are generally sci-fi or historical action (war/drama).

I have Farscape (only in box set form, there are only 2 out so far), Alias, Mr. Show, & The Simpsons. that's it & I'm up to date on all of them.
I'm thinking of starting Farscape now that the up-coming mini-series Peacekeeper War will tie up all the loose ends.

But you see, I'd never buy Mr. Show or Simpsons.

But a question here for everybody, what is so special about Freaks & Geeks? Isn't this just another highschool locker type show like Boy Meets World?
