Top 10 selling DVDs - 1st half of 2004
This is according to www.dvdfile.com:
http://www.dvdfile.com/news/sales_statistics/index.html
Look through the last few months and tried to figure out in what order each of the DVDs would fall into. 6-8 may be a little off in order, but they do belong in the list.
1. LotR: RotK (a very big #1, number 2 not even close)
2. Lion King 1 1/2 (was #1, until the 1st day of LotR: RotK)
3. Matrix Revolution
4. Bother Bear
5. Kill Bill Vol 1
6. Spy Kids 3
7. Open Range
8. Cheaper by the Dozen
9. Last Samurai
10. Cat in the hat
I have seen all 10 but Kill Bill Vol 1. I wish I had never taken my kids to see The Cat in the Hat. I will not even rent that DVD, one of the worse movies I have every wasted my money on.
Anyway, thought you all might like to see this.

Does anyone know where you can find the top selling TV on DVDs? I read somewhere "Family Guy" was somewhere near the top.

I have four.
Seeing #1 made me wonder: I don't know how many are like me, addicted to DVDs and love LOTR, but passing on the bare-bones ROTK disc in favor of the EE later. If that wasn't coming out, I bet the sales numbers would be a lot higher. Maybe I'm overestimating that demand, though. How did the other EE's sell?

I own 7
1. LotR: RotK (a very big #1, number 2 not even close)
2. Lion King 1 1/2 (was #1, until the 1st day of LotR: RotK)
3. Matrix Revolution
4. Bother Bear
5. Kill Bill Vol 1
7. Open Range
9. Last Samurai
The thing that'll hold Star Wars back is the fact that it's a box set. Regardless, I think it'll finish #2 behind LOTR: ROTK.

OK, for those of you stating the impossible, and you know who you are... STAR WARS WILL NOT FINISH #1 FOR THE YEAR! Here are the reasons why...
1. Shrek 2
2. Spider-man 2
3. Lord of the Rings: Return of the King
4. Harry Potter 3
5. King Arthur (No matter how bad it is...)
6. I Robot (See 5)
7. The Day After Tomorrow (2 X Reason 4)
8. The age of the films
9. The price point
10. The long wait many have endured.
