muppet 15-disk set second thoughts

so I just my super discounted T-L muppet set and it says on the back of the case to visit muppetworld.com, and I do as the box tells me, and the site says something about Disney owning the Muppets......so now I'm pretty sure that a super-super box set is in the works with possible Kermit and Huggy Bear (sorry, Fozzie) audio commentary.......and I start to do the math, and that 45 episode set for $54 is only a great deal if the imagined new box set never emerges........but like I said, Disney, nuff said....

Disney does not have a strong track record for treating the Muppets well. I definitely have high hopes for full season sets from them (so I can get every episode)... but I also am not holding my breath.

Actually, I think 45 episodes for $54 is a good deal no matter what. Even season box sets would likely carry only half that amount and would likely cost $30+ a piece.

I went to the muppets site and I have to say the picture of Kermit wearing a Mickey Mouse hat was vaguely disturbing to me.

For a great price, I now have 45 episodes, and that's probably all I need since I'm not what you'd call a "Muppet collector".

No second thoughts at all .... very happy with the purchase.

Hmm--I just went to the site, and I didn't see a 15-DVD set, only VHS.

It's sold out... T-L is no longer selling the sets. This deal was from a few weeks ago.

I like the muppets, but there's no way that I would shell out for all of the seasons even if they did come out with them. For me, this was about the perfect price and number of discs. But even if they do come out with season sets, you can probably sell your current "best of" collection for what you paid for it, or maybe more. Seems like a win-win situation to me.

Ditto I thought the price was right and I have throughly enjoyed the 5 discs I have watched so far. I wont double dip on these if better sets come out from disney these are enough for me.

Agreed. Price perfect. # of eps perfect. I find the DVDTalk/FatWallet double-slam on TimeLife kind of funny...surprised it took them as long as it did for them to remove the DVDs from their site. They probably sold tens of thousands of the steel drum CD.
