Warner Bros Snap cases?

When will they eliminate the snap cases?

All of their movies except the Matrix Reloaded and Matrix Revolutions and Terminator 3 are all packaged in snap cases.

New Line did away with the snap cases.

I bought City of Angels at Circuit City for $7.99 and part of the plastic on the case was broken and the case won't close all the way.

Nearly all of WB's releases for the past three months have been in keepcases or digipacks: both Matrix sequels, The Last Samurai, Spartan, etc.

It looks like they're finally, wisely, moving away from the snapper.

The did use a snapper on the bare-bones version of "Mystic River," but anyone who cares about the case a disc comes in would've bought the 3-disc digipack anyway.

Yes, but all of those titles except Spartan were 2-disc sets. I'd say they're not moving away from the Snapper just yet.

The recent Cary Grant DVDs (Mr. Blandings Builds his Dream House, Destination Tokyo, The Bachelor and the Bobby-Soxer, My Favorite Wife, and Night and Day) were all in keepcases.

They obviously haven't done a complete switch-over, but I think they're (finally) starting to phase out the snappers.

The Film Noir Collection and Scorsese collection discs will also be in keepcases, along with the Hitchcock collection discs.

So it's obviously not an isolated case (excuse the pun) but rather a change in company philosophy regarding packaging.

Are there any snappers coming out that have been announced? I don't think there are.

Mystic River may have been the last one.
