King Kong Lives
Looks like the DVD release date will be September 7. I remember this movie vaguely. Still, it'll be nice to add to my Bridges/Lange DVD. I wonder why they didn't wait until closer to the theatrical release of Jackson's movie...

Yes its a clunker but as a 10 year old kid watching this in the theater in 1976 it was kinda "wow"! You have to remember that we were the same way for Jaws back then, and the shark looks fake today!

I had slowmo on my VCR and could see Linda Hamilton's hooters in this movie when I was a kid. She flashes them for not even a second. I imagine that with the digital restoration, that it will be much easier to see Linda Hamilton's hooters in slow motion.
Ironically, I don't even remember King Kong being in this movie.

This is hands down, absolutely, positively...the worst movie ever made. King Kong meets she-Kong and mugs for the camera. I remember a scene where Linda Hamilton and that guy are cowering behind a rock watching the two Kongs "make out", and are inspired to do the same themselves. I'm sorry but this film does not even have "so bad its good" watchability. Oh the irony of getting this film widescreen/anamorphic before The Sting.

I grew up on the original 1933 King Kong, and I even liked the 1976 remake, but King Kong Lives from 1986 is so bad even I haven't been able to sit through the whole thing.
I might take this DVD for free, then again, free might not be a fair price. You might have to pay me to take this one!
