Inherit the Wind with Jack Lemmon & George C Scott?

It aired only once on Showtime in 1999 and I never got a chance to tape it.

I don't think Showtime will ever replay the movie again.

Is it available in any format anywhere?

The only version that I am aware of the the Spencer Tracey version. I had seen clips of the new one, but I have not seen a copy anywhere.

There are a total of three TV versions: 1965 with Melvyn Douglas and Ed Begley, Sr., 1988 with Kirk Douglas and Jason Robards and 1999 with Lemmon and Scott. I have only seen the 1988 version and it pales in comparison to the Tracy/March film.

The Lemmon/Scott version was released on VHS. It is out of print but there are plenty available from sellers on Amazon:

and half.com:

No it didn't; I've seen it on more than one occassion.

Also, the IMDb says "1997", but I wouldn't be sure which of you is right.

I don't think I'd had cable for a week before the first time I saw this movie. Keep an eye out for it, it's on a lot.

One good tip, go to www.tv-now.com ... it's updated monthly. You can search by actor, or by director (William Friedkin, in this case).
