Can't find a Robocop Trilogy without scratches!!!

For those of you that purchased the Robocop Trilogy this past Tuesday, how many opened it up to find scratched discs? I bought mine at Circuit City, brought it home and opened the box up only to find fine scratches on both discs 1 and 2. Took it back to the same store, exchanged it (didn't think to open it up there), took it home only to find even worse scratches on all 3 discs. Today I exchanged the second one at a Circuit City near my job only to find more damn scatches on all 3 discs (remembered to open it there this time), and just my luck, that was this store's last set WTF! Please tell me I'm not the only one, and who the hell does the studios have packaging discs nowadays... five year olds!?

I started that thread. It was taken the wrong way. Who's to say people are not more careless in other countries? If a studio begins to have its dvds made in another country, and all of a sudden, more and more dvds are mishandled therefore resulting in a lot more scratches from that studios dvds, wouldn't common sense tell you that it is possible the mishandling is because of workers in that country????? Or is that against the dvd talk gods' 10 commandments?

Anyways, I bought the only trilogy set at my CC and disc 3 was severly scratched. Disc 1 is fine, and disc 2 kinda has some smudge looking stuff on the edge. I'm worried that when they do get them back in, all may be like that.

My copy was fine but while I was at Best Buy today to get my Cocoon disc replaced, there was a guy there who had a scratched up copy, he said this was his third time that day looking at a copy which finally did not have scratches on it. Blame OCP, their crap never works anyways...

I have 2 CC's near me, so I'm gonna keep exchanging until I get a new copy in new condition. Disc 3 looks like Freddy Kreuger packaged it.

Yeah that's what I plan on doing, but what's pissing me off is with the gas I wasted so far exchanging it, the $24.99 I paid is turning into $34.99... oh well. Thanks for the replys guys.

I'm glad you warned us... I just opened my set ($19.99 at Fry's!), disc 1 - good, disc 2 - good, disc 3- shredded!

Fortunately I don't care about Robocop 3... but I guess I'll trade back on principal next time I'm at Fry's.

I have started opening DVDs in the parking lot before leaving the store because I have found loose (even though it didnt make noise when shaken) and some ripped inserts inthe past. It saves time and gas to open your stuff in th eparking lot. Only takes a minute or less..

Got it Tuesday at BB, not a scratch. Good set though, Robocop three wasn't that bad. They are all fun movies.

Got mine at Fry's. Disc 2 was is scuffed way bad. I'm testing it now to see if it affects play, but I'm probably going to return it reguardless.
Edit: Yep, there was definate freezing, back to the store I go..

My Robocop trilogy was scratch free. I purchased it at CC.

I have not been so lucky with the new World War II collection. I purchased it at Circuit City. I got it home, and disc 1 was loose and scratched terribly. I took it back to exchange for there second, and last copy. It also had a disc loose, so I didn't bother even opening it. I ended up going to Best Buy to get it, and both of their sets had a loose disc! Has anybody else had this problem?

Got mine from Circuit City and opened it after reading this thread. Didn't see any scratches; just looked in awe of the amazing packaging.

Picked mine up at futureshop, no scatches here. Are these things hand packed? if so, that's pretty scary.

I got mine from BB and disc 1 was scratched, but the others were ok. I watched it to make sure it was fine and it was, so I didn't even bother trying to go through the hassle of finding a non scratched copy.

I always do the shake test before I buy movies. The sales people probably think I'm weird standing there inspecting the cases for the same movie.

Same here. It is always a bonus when there are many other customers there as well looking at me like I'm the egg guy from Clerks

Ordered mine from Deep Discount and all 3 discs were in pristine condition. Sounds like a problem endemic of Best Buy and Circuit City. But then what do you expect from stores who have monkeys for employees.

Went to CC today. They got in a whole 2 copies of the trilogy today. The one I swapped for luckily was scratch free. I was in Best Buy Sunday to browse and noticed they had at least 50 copies.
