Netflix: the squeaky wheel got the grease?
It's been mentioned here a few times how Netflix intentionally delays shipping out new releases to very heavy renters (heavy meaning several every week, consistently). This has been my case for a while now.
Anyway, I sent off a couple complaints to them about it. Nothing inflamatory, just voicing my dissatisfaction. Never got a reply but not long after that two of the titles I had been waiting ages for (Kill Bill and Lost in Translation) finally shipped and now, Along Came Polly and Mystic River were shipped today. I have one day turn around (live near a disto center) so I should have them both tomorrow. It's like the old days! I used to ALWAYS get new releases that fast.
So, just a heads up, anyone else having that problem may want to send a well written and specific complaint. Don't expect a response but it may get results. Hopefully it's not a fluke.

If I time it right, they send me out new releases the Monday before, so I get them on the Tuesday they are released.

I am a heavy renter (5 at a time) and get the new release titles shipped to me, only what normally got to me the next day is now taking 2 to 3 days, and I live an hour from my local distribution center.
Maybe I should complain as well.

i don't see why people think that there isn't going to be a wait on new releases if they don't do the above.

Netflix has gotten even better for me.
I'm on the old 2-out plan, I don't rent a lot of 'new releases', so that may be part of it.
I put a disk in my mailbox yesterday, they got it today, and they've got my next disk marked as 'Shipping today.'

From: You have moved into a dark place. It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue.
Well, "Monster" said "Long Wait" but a copy just shipped to me today.
They've been back to being pretty good about new releases over the past couple of weeks, and I trade out three discs a week.

Paycheck and Shade with Stalline and Bubba Ho Tep are long waits and counting and School of Rock and Out of Time were long waits.
Scary Movie 3 was a long wait but I decided to buy the dvd which was dumb since it was a average movie.
I bought Out of Time on Directv intead of waiting.
Most of the other new releases were shipped.
