Bon Voyage

Per DVDANSWERS-

Title: Bon Voyage
Starring: Gérard Depardieu
Released: 17th August 2004
SRP: $29.95

Further Details
The final announcement from Columbia for today, is Bon Voyage which stars good old Gérard Depardieu alongside the likes of Isabelle Adjani and Virginie Ledoyen. The Jean-Paul Rappeneau directed film, will be available to own from the 17th August this year, and should retail at around $29.95. I'm afraid that we have no word on extra material, although we can tell you that the disc should include an anamorphic widescreen presentation and French Dolby Digital 5.1 track. We'll update this news article with the final specs as soon as they arrive. Stay tuned. For now though, here's the artwork and a single menu shot

If the features aren't good though (or if there are barely any), I may decide to go with the 2-disc import from france, which is looking mighty tempting right now.

...which has no English subs ( I assume you would need them).

Is it just me, or has Isabelle Adjani taken some of that "Death Becomes Her" serum, keeping her eternally youthful? Same with Nastassia Kinski. I'm watching you, Isabelle and Nastassia! You're not aging!

I have to say that I was kind of disappointed in this film, while it was great to see an impressive cast and the characters they created, the story on the other hand seemed trunscated, as if some pre-release trimming had occured.

Is that just a mess up or what?

Alright, I'll take your word on it, now if it wasn't due for a Us release, I'd probably take my chance.

But I guess I can wait.

ok...I sense some doubt in you...

so here are a few facts in support of my words (which when it comes to French/European product I tend to triple check before I let others know....see the International forum)

Review in English
http://www.dvdtimes.co.uk/content.php?contentid=6501

Subtitles:
French for hard of hearing only!!

How's that??

Pro-B

ps
Unfortunately quite a few of the French and Benelux reviews do indicate English subs which is clearly not the case. They have simply chosen to copy the info that was provided to many online European e-tailers almost a year ago (.i.f....as it was the case with Fanfan La tulipe).
