According to Amazon.com's description of what the 2 disc anniversary set contains, it looks like the 90 minute documentary you're referring to is already in the set. Thus, there would be no need to have it on an extra bonus disc. What you saw sounds like a misunderstanding to me. Thus, $16.99 tomorrow at Best Buy still looks like the best deal I've seen.

Amazon Description

DVD Features:
Commentary by director Phil Alden Robinson and director of photography John Lindley

Remastered picture and 5.1 sound

"From Father to Son: Passing Along the Pastime" - father and son baseball moments as discussed by the director, star, and baseball players

Newly Discovered Deleted Scenes

"The Diamond in the Husks" - a look at the baseball set that still exists

"Galena, Illinois" Pinch Hits for Chisholm, Minnesota" - a walk through Moonlight Graham's home town

"A Look Inside Field of Dreams - a new 90-minute documentary on the film

Bravo's "From Page to Screen: Field of Dreams"

"Field of Dreams Roundtable" - Kevin Costner and former baseball players talk about baseball and the film

America's Stadium Trivia

Widescreen anamorphic format

Number of discs: 2

Amazon has got the specifications wrong.

Acording to this thread over at HomeTeater-Forum The 90 minute documentary is not on the 2-disc set. Even director Phil Alden Robinson says itīs not on the anniversary edition.

Walmart have added an exclusive bonus disc with lots of extras including the full 90 minute documentary. This is really a bargain.

Unfortunately, I live in Copenhagen, Denmark, and would really like to get my hands on this Walmart set. Would someone be willing to help me out?

I would sincerely appreciate it.

Well this should be interesting. Thanks for the heads up Dane. I also will spring for the Wal Mart version if that documentary is only available there.

To add more pre-purchase confusion, check out this thread which purports to have menu pics from this anniversary edition. No mention of "A Look Inside Field of Dreams" but there is a selection (on the last pictured screen) for "Field of Dreams Scrapbook", which I thought was the old name for this same 90 minute documentary? I am officially in wait and see mode on this one.

The 90 minute documentary isn't on the two disc set. I interiviewed Phil Alden Robinson a few weeks back, and he did mention the possibility of a third disc exclusive for Wal-Mart with the documentary from the first release, but he said he wasn't sure it would happen.

When I checked with Universal, they said they had no new info.

You are right about that. But from what Iīve read the documentary has been subtantially cut. However, we have yet to get this confirmed.

Is it worth paying an extra $3.30 for? Closest BB is 35 miles away & CC will 110% pricematch them by looking ad up on their website which brings the price down to $16.69. My crappy Wal Mart is sure to have it at $19.87 with no one locally advertising it at lower than $19.99. With tax it'll be $3.30 more at Wal Mart than at CC.

Quibbling over $3 when you can get what many consider the best doc about a film of all time is pretty silly.

First of all, there seems to be some doubt as to whether it will be the full length documentary according to some posts.

Second, $3 isn't a big deal if it is that great a documentary & is the whole thing. I haven't heard a lot about this particular doc until now and I apologize for not realizing it is such the masterpiece that you say it is. Not all of us know everything.

I just bought a copy from Wal-Mart. It said the bonus 3rd disc has 2 hours of bonus material featuring MVP Bret Saberhagen.

I don't know if it's the same as the old documentry or not because I'm not familer of the old release.

If you can find it in stock somewhere, that is. It seems to be OOP. Amazon doesn't have the old version. Nor does DeepDiscount. DVD Planet has it though.

DVD Empire has it, but you've got to spend more & get it in a "2-Pack" (with "For Love Of The Game").

There is also another 2-Pack featuring the old "FOD" disc -- coupled with "October Sky". That's available at some locations, too.

Can you give us the exact running time of the documentary, along with a brief description of the first minute or two (who's being interviewed, what they're saying)? That should pretty much clear it up...

I'm going to Wal-Mart during lunch. I know it seems to be a given, but has anyone confirmed that sets sold by non Wal-Mart retailers do not have the 90 minute documentary?

I picked up this set at Wal-Mart this morning for $15.19. I have not watched the bonus disk yet.

just got the Wal-Mart version. the 3rd disc Scrapbook documentary is the same as the one on the previous DVD. in fact, it is a little longer, with a running time of 1hr 29mins 46sec. it is slightly longer because of some closing credits that weren't on the original DVD.

btw, the above pic is a pic of the 3rd disc menu.

I picked it up at the Port Covington store in Baltimore. The price was $14.84.
