Best 5.0 track on a DVD

It's beyond me why some companies release movies with 5.0 tracks rather than 5.1, but I found Donnie Brasco to have a solid 5.0 track. I thought the sound was particular good during the scene where
Spoiler:
Sonny Black and company suprise Sonny Red and his crew in the basement with guns blazing.

Tarzan (Disney) has a DD 5.0 track as well. It is pretty good though.

I noticed that about Tarzan and always wondered why it wasn't done in 5.1.... even though it does sound fine.

Another vote for Tarzan. The movie has plenty of bass even without the dedicated .1 channel.

Twister sounds amazing. Whenever I want to "show off" the surround feature of my HT, this is the disc I put in, regardless of Bill Paxton.

Agreed. What bass there is in that film is served plenty well enough by the disc's 5.0 track.

I thought Twister had a 5.1 track.

Gettysburg has a good 5.0 track. The Pickett's Charge part has pretty good cannon sounds even without the .1 LFE.

Waterworld ain't bad either. Pretty decent bass, when there is some like at the Atoll battle.

Fantasia has a DD & DTS 5.0 track and both are superb, cinsider it was released in the '40s. I consider 5.0 great for older films or musicals (or silent films like Nosferatu) but I need the .1!!!!!!!!!!!

I have the dts release and it's indeed in 5.1 plus DD5.1. Maybe the first release only had 5.0

I think the 2-disc Sound of Music has a pretty solid 5.0 track, especially for its age. Er, um, at least that's what my...uh...girlfriend tells me!

Um, there's no technical reason (in most setups) why this would matter. The comments above make it sound like a soundtrack is bass-deficient if there's no .1, but you can still get bass as low as you'd like from a 5.0 track. Assuming it's in the movie in the first place.
