"Cop Land", and other bizarre DVD case credits

I've seen quite a few entertaining threads around here talking about some pretty hilarious taglines and critic comments on DVD cases, but haven't seen some of the truly bizarre actor credits that are sometimes listed. For example, I picked up the Director's Cut of "Cop Land" today. And on the back it says: Sylvestor Stallone (Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over, Driven), Robert DeNiro (Analyze That!), Harvey Keitel (Red Dragon, U-571)) and Ray Liotta (Identity, John Q). And I had to laugh. First, does anyone NOT know who most actors of these actors are or where they've seen them? "Hmmm, that fat sheriff looks familiar. WHERE have I seen him!?" (Reads the DVD case). "Oh yeah!! He was in "Spy Games 3-D" and "Driven"!" I realize they're putting the most recent work of these actors, but couldn't they at least list some of their more critically acclaimed performances? If they have to list something at all that is.

Anyone got any other examples of this?

Sorry, "Meet the Parents" was also listed under DeNiro's name.

Does it have to do with recent work or same studio ownership of those movies?

From the back of the DVD for The Insider
"Academy Award Winner Al Pacino (The Devil's Advocate, Any Given Sunday) gives a riviting performance..."

I think it must just be a Buena Vista thing as all those lame-o references, as well as others in my collection come from Disney, Touchstone or Miramax DVDs.

I like how on the Trainspotting case its lists Episode III as one of Ewan McGregors films.

Not just a Buena Vista thing - it's common, from big studios to smaller production companies.

The DVD case for Dogma urged the viewer to see another Matt Damon film, All The Pretty Horses. Um.

The most famous example of this is Laurence "The Betsy" Olivier.

I doubt that since both of the quoted titles are Warner Bros. I guess it is just recent works they're citing.

No, you misunderstood what I was saying. I think it's only (or at least largely) Buena Vista that puts those movie credits next to the actors' names on the description of the plot on the back cover. Fox, Warner, Paramount and Columbia seem to assume you already know who Tom Cruise, Robert Redford, Denzel Washington and Julia Roberts are.
