I love this movie, but this has to be the weakest "collector's edition" DVD ever released. You just get the movie, 3 brief (and pointless) deleted scenes, a minute's worth of unfunny "bloopers" and a 5-minute piece of promotional puffery. Put together, all the supplementary material runs maybe 15 minutes, if that. WEAK.
At least Miramax allowed the director to go back and insert the end credit sequences that he was originally forced to remove. Instead of a CE, maybe they should have labeled it a director's cut.

I suspect that Weinstein and Russell really really fought over that movie, which is why the supplements are so dry. I know Weinstein wanted those scenes cut, and I assume he cut them from the video release out of spite.

You know, from what I can see, this is from Miramax's Collector's Series, so the movie itself isn't actually labelled as a Collector's "Edition."

I saw the movie in the theatres and I did not get to see the missing footage until I bought the laserdisc, which contained the original director's cut.
I am hopeful that this new version restores the missing footage, which I think might be the case based on Rusty James' post?
I have not received my copy yet, but it has to be an improvement over the original DVD which had a terrible transfer.

No buy for me.

You not buying based on that is similar to not buying, say, Citizen Kane, because it wasn't originally in color.
The movie's mostly dialogue anyways - a surround track would add nothing.
