I couldn't wait any more!

After years of hearing "A special edition is in the works," and therefore holding off on my purchase, I finally gave in. Today while I was preordering some other titles, I picked up Office Space and Blade Runner. I'll double-dip if they ever release the long-rumored Special Editions.

What have other people bought even though there's supposed to be a Special Edition coming someday? What have you not bought because of a rumored re-release?

I not only bought the first US release of Trainspotting, but then I got the Canadian version which had a few extras, and now I'm getting the special edition this week. I picked up a used copy of Blade Runner a year ago or so. Sold my goodfellas and mean streets this week.

I finally picked up The Game but I've been holding off on The Shawshank Redemption and Blade Runner.

Nothing.

If something comes out that I want, I buy it. If a better version comes along I buy that too.

I'm waiting for The Untouchables and Goodfellas special editions before I buy them. Most of the time, I'll buy a bare bones release if I really like the movie, then replace it later with the SE if one comes out (like Speed, Top Gun, League of Their Own, etc).

I have been holding off on buying Resident Evil because I heard there is a rumor that a director's cut should been coming out later this year.

And I keep promising myself I'm gonna buy the Canadian multi-disk version of Brotherhood of the Wolf.

It'll probably be out next summer. I don't really care about holding out anymore. Its really easy to sell DVDs on eBay.

I'll pass on "holding off" on a title. I dont wait for anything because I am too impaitent. I could be dead by time the SE gets here so I'd rather go out with having seen the damn film. double, triple or quad dipping is not something I'm concerned with. I also dont fall for that guilt trip crap about me allowing the studios to drill us in the ass. I'll buy whatever I want whenever I want....and this will continue.

Usually when I buy a DVD, they announce a new SE version to be released..........the studio's must be watching me or something.

Office Space is non-anamorphic, so I will either wait for the SE or pick up the Region 2 version.

These re-releases are killing me recently, so now I think long and hard about catalog title before I buy them. Have a lot that if new SEs come out I will replace

Happy Gilmore - Sold my DVD - bought WS LaserDisc - will now buy SE
Goodfellas - bought just weeks before SE news (oh well) - will replace
Blade Runner - had it for a while
Office Space - Bet the wife has watched it 20 times though
Shawshank Redemption - will probably Double-dip
etc

i picked up 21 grams even though it will get an SE treatment some day.

bought my son predator knowing the SE was coming.

got office space, i'll be surprised if an SE actually gets released.

i held off on the superbit panic room and waited for the 3 disc, but i'm real close to getting the game since there is apparantly nothing planned for an SE any time soon.
