Oz Season 4 To Be Divided Up on DVD?
I was wondering if anyone knows whether Season 4 is gonna be botched up on DVD like Sex and The City Season 6. I REALLY hope not...Oz rules but the first 3 sets are pricey for 8 hours of entertainment, about time we get cut some slack wouldnt you hope..
Also wondering if anyone out there knows when we should be expecting said set(s)...

According to Tom Fontana's site, Season 4 will be released on 10/5/04.

I'll pick up season 4 if it carries the same price as the others and includes all the episodes. But I'm waiting for the price to come down on all the others before I buy them (unless I win the lottery, of course).

My guess is that they will split season 4 into two separate DVD releases--more money for HBO. If you watch the Season 4 preview on the Season 3 DVD it only covers the first 8 episodes of Season 4.
Unfortunately, that means a longer wait for the farewell scene from "Cuts Like a Knife"
Still, maybe we'll get a Meloni commentary by then---I can dream, right?

I think they ought to have a commentary track featuring Chris Meloni's penis. I think it had more screentime than a few of the actors in the opening credits.

This is what I am assuming as well. I actually started watching Oz in the second half of S4.

But wasn't Season 4 of Oz split up as well? According to Epguides.com, there was a four-month gap between the first eight episodes of Season 4 and the last eight.
I'm guessing they'll probably split it up on DVD, since they did that with SATC.

yah but the SATC thing was more to get people excited for the second part of the season, no? Oz is over and done at this point. There'd be no legitimate reason to split it up.
Personally, i don't think they're that stupid to split up the season like that. It would be TOO obvious to the consumer. What are they going to do? Then release the other seasons normally when they come out? Doubtful.

It will be a bad idea to split it up. It should be all 16 episodes together. Season 4 (both parts) were some of the most exciting episodes of Oz. Season 5 and season 6 were rather dull.
