Nick & Jessica Variety Hour will be on DVD this summer

Aren't you lucky?

Yesterday a reader, Rob Broder, wrote in and mentioned that DVDPlanet.com had put The Nick & Jessica Variety Hour special up for pre-order, with a July 13 release date. No other info was listed beside a $16.95 list price, and that the studio was Image Entertainment.

The special aired in early April, and featured popular "Newlyweds" Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson, along with special guests such as Mr. T., Kenny Rogers, Jewel, Babyface, Kermit and Miss Piggy, and baseball legend Johnny Bench.

Since this item was missing from Image's recently announced July slate, we called over there and checked. Yes indeedy, this certainly is correct info. The item wasn't announced as part of the slate, though, because Image isn't ready with the other details, or the cover art. Stay tuned, though, because we'll be back with it when they set us up.

Yesterday a reader, Rob Broder...
Hey, that's me!

I'm actually looking forward to getting this. ( again) I really enjoyed it, and I'm hoping they'll include some extras. And it'll be out just in time for my birthday!

Wow. Those guests are, umm... random. "Newleyweds" is the show with the infamous "is tuna a chicken or a fish?" bit, right?

Buford just wants to know if people are willing to pay for "Nick and Jessica" DVDs to use as coasters for their drinks

The really hilarious thing is that the news item is getting a LOT of hits at our site. And I mean a LOT.

I might grab this if I can find it for under $7-8. After all, even if the voice was wrong, KITT was still in it! Actually, there were a LOT of 80's throwbacks in the show.

I wonder what extras they are going to put on it? I can't imagine that they have the balls to sell a 1-hour long show for an SRP of $16.95 and not put anything more on the DVD.

If they aren't, I think their watch says 14:30 and ticking.

Jessica's apparent stupidity is one reason why I always had a hard time taking many girls seriously in my earlier years.

You can add the Paris Hilton line in A Simple Life of "What's Wal-Mart? Do they sell walls there?" to the same obsurdity level as Jessica Simpson's ridiculousness.

You can already get Pink Lady & Jeff, The Brady Bunch Variety Hour, and the Sonny & Cher Show.
