Whats your Disney Treasures number?
So I was opening my sets, pondering a strange thought: "I wonder who wound up with set number #1 of these things?" The guy at the packing plant when they start to roll off the mastering line? Eisner? Are they stored away in the Disney archives?
Well, some mysteries man was not meant to know. Failing that, lets compare what we got and see who got the lucky draw with the lowest set number.
I only picked up two of the four:
Tomorrowland: 88,107 of 105,000
The Front Lines: 73,858 of 250,000
. . . both from the north Seattle Costco.

I picked up all four at the local Sam's Club. None of mine where all that low in number, but I pulled out the inserts for the Mickey in Color II, and I right behind my certificate for 59,854/175,000 is another certificate for 59,853/175,000. I guess someone, somewhere is going to get short changed.
Anyone else get two certificates in the same tin??

DOes anyone have any idea why these aren't stamped on the front like the previous releases? I was pretty disappointed to see this, but of course it doesn't impact the disc itself. Just a nitpick.

The clerk at the Disney Store where I got my copies yesterday was also into the Treasures -- picked them up every Christmas for her adult son -- and she told me the reason for the delay from last Christmas to May was because of the difficulty getting the tins. Maybe that accounts for not stamping the number on them.

Anyone know where i can get a copy of "Goofy"? I missed that one.
The Disney DVD club still offers the old ones, but they're only available in group packages, so you'd have to buy "Mickey B+W" and, uh, whatever the other second wave title was ... but E-bay still has them seperately, and 'Goofy' isn't too bad [I think it's the fourth most expensive on E-bay.... it seems to be "Mickey in Color, vol 1", "Silly Symphonies", "Mickey in B+W" and then either "Goofy" or "Davy Crockett" ... if you keep an eye on it, though, and don't rush the purchase, you shouldn't have to pay more than $30 or so].
