We can make it a drinking game. Whenever you see that anywhere, you have to chug a beer.

Anyone who is a proponent of any show says that about that particular show. I've read that statement in reviews of Buffy, the Sopranos, Alias, 24, the West Wing, a gazillion different shows. It's become such a cliched, tired and meaningless statement. "Even the worst of (insert name of show here) is better than anything else."

I couldn't agree with you more. Ever hear of "damned by faint praise?" That is odd that OMWF isn't 16x9 enhanced, especially considering Fox's support for such things.

Widescreen TV episode
I dunno, I think of getting the R2 OMWF DVD the same way as I think about getting the Charade redux. I don't have that widescreen TV yet, and it's not like I saw the episode on a big wide screen originally, so it will just replicate the experience I had that October night in 2001. No great tragedy.
Now, if there are bonus features on the R2 OMWF disc that don't appear on the R1 Buffy S6 box set, please let me know. I'll hop over to Amoeba tomorrow.
BOMM,
CS

that picture doesn't look too bad actually. (and as it looks like, it was indeed shown at 2:00;1 and not 1:77 probably so there'd be no overscan.

The R1 is still 1.78:1, it's just windowboxed so there's no overscan meaning you see every corner of the picture.
If you watch it on a 4:3 display, the episode will look like it's 2.00:1, but in technicality, it's only 1.78:1.

The only thing I can think of on OMWF not being 16x9 is that WS tv owners would have to switch settings before and after that one episode. Though this way, I'll still have to switch it around from 4x3 mode to Zoom1.
And on a tangent, I could've sworn I saw something on a forum about a re-release of the Buffy seasons in a big box, no new extras, but in keepcases or slim cases (like Firefly was). There's a listing on Amazon for a Seasons 1-6, but no details.
I've checked every forum I lurk at, and several e-tailers, but only the Amazon one. Has anybody else heard about this?
