Also from the DVDTalk review:
So with all three films in 1.85 anamorphic and in strong DD 5.1 soundtracks, that's all I need to know. I'm all there. Still glad I pre-ordered. And for $28 at DDD, this sounds like a pretty good deal.
All three films have very active Dolby Digital 5.1 soundtracks with optional subtitles available in English, French and Spanish. Subwoofer response is rock solid and the rear channels are used quite effectively most notably during the high action scenes where bullets whiz around the room and cars squeal across the front soundstage. Dialogue is consistently clean and clear and always easy to follow.

If I buy Robocop I want to get the Criterion Edition of it.
http://www.criterionco.com/asp/release.asp?id=23
I know its out of print but a few of them show up on ebay.
Part 1 and 2 are the only versions I would want. Part 3 is a coaster.

The way I look at the price is that you are buying Robocop for $19.99 and you get a couple bonus dvds.

Yeah you can. Circuit City had it for $24.99. But DVDSoon outmatches them all, although I'd rather get it from a really reliable source.

Will they ever release the first disc (robocop) seperately? I'd like to see the DC and extras, but not really wanting the sequels.
Maybe i'll hold out for a price drop or something...$24 for one movie's a bit much.

I second that as well, Robocop 1 is my favorite of all 3...hope the release them individually sooner than later.

Even if the movie comes seperately, you'll prolly pay like 16.99 for it. Just spend the 26.99 and get the whole trilogy. It's got some decent packaging and for a cheap price such as that, it's good for collection purposes.

My guess is the movie will be released individually soon..like in the next 6 months or so. I doubt it will be $16.99 too, probably something like $14.99 MSRP. The international versions of this disc can be had for dirt cheap in their respective countries (under $10)
Robocop is too big of a title not to have as a stand alone tittle at a reasonable price point.

Just got the Trilogy.
Cool new extras. All 3 films are 1.85/1.77:1, enhanced for widescreen, which is way about time. This set is really worth buying and I've bought every friggin' version of everyone of those films (except RoboCop 3, see below).
Yes, I own the CC and wouldn't part from it because of the interesting extras and the original commentary and not for the transfer, which I personally think SUCKS, on top of the 1.66:1 ratio you have to squeeze into 1.77 on a widescreen TV or yet windowbox, wich is utterly ridiculous and such a waste.
What I really liked about the box is that (1) now I can watch the uncut CC version in enhanced for widescreen with an original commentary and vibrant colour (as opposed to the CC), (2) that I can watch the second film in enhanced-for-widescreen and (3) that I have discovered RoboCop 3.
Like most of you, I was prejudiced against it. But once you watch it, what's not to like? Great actors, great reverence for the themes and the RoboCop myth, great satire, great fun, great unusually heart-felt script by Frank Miller, the return of Nancy Allen and of Basil Poledouris as the composer and great way to conclude the series with dignity. Too bad about Peter Weller not being there.
RoboCop is one of my all-time favourite movies-movies. I am against over-the-top , gratuitous, sadistic violence in films as a rule but in this series, the violence is justified and necessary for the moral points it wants to make. RoboCop, on a satirical level, is an indictment of Reagan-era greed and a deconstruction of US films obsessed with guns and cars. The third film in the series makes all this perfectly clear for anyone who missed the point in the first two films.
True, the third instalment lacks the grandeur of the first one and the savage, kinetic brutality of the second one (it actually reminds me a little of The Tick), but, all things considered, it could have been a lot worse. I'm glad I own it now.

Not to get too far off-topic, but what is it that makes people always link the Reagan-era with greed? Greed for whom? The idea that someone other than the government is and should be entitled to make money? Excuse my capitalist American ignorance, but since when was the United States a socialist country?
Does anyone who criticizes American capitalistic "greed" ever stop and wonder why America's economy is one of the most, if not the most vibrant and powerful economy in the world? If not, then one must wonder, "Hey, when the PEOPLE and NOT the GOVERNMENT have the wealth, then maybe perhaps, the economy(s) will grow and prosper, rather than being under the weight of an overbearing government that tends to spend money on things that don't always necessarily benefit the people they claim it does."
For the life of me, I can't understand why some people have such a negative feeling towards corporations. Yet always complain when there are no good paying jobs out there. Hello??? McFly!!!It's those corporations who PROVIDE those good paying jobs to those who have EARNED those jobs through proper education.
Ahem...sorry, if my rant was a bit too political, but I just got back from vacation only to see my email inbox loaded with several emails from my socialist American cousin about how "transnational global corporations" are somehow threatening our democracy....unlike those overbearing, oppressive, tyrannical governments out there.
