Aiken in Aladdin

I did a search and found nothing, so allow me to give you the wonderful news

From DavisDVD.com

Sweet merciful crap. It's just been revealed that "American Idol" also-ran Clay Aiken will lend his pipes to singing the deleted musical sequence "Proud of Your Boy" for Disney's two-disc Aladdin Special Edition. Maybe Ruben can insert himself into Mary Poppins for an encore (no, not like that). The Aladdin DVD is due on October 5th.

Seems like a smart move on Disneys part. Putting an "american idol" in a popular childrens film, but I for one will skip over this new song.

The new sequence in Beauty and the Beast was excellent, the one in Lion King wasn't.. but they've all so far had to option to watch it without so I don't see why that would change.

Well.....the good news is the song will not be intergrated into the film.

The Bad News(for me): Since my gf is a hardcore claymate I will probably have to hear the damn song over and over and over again.

I have yet to see the new sequence in Beauty and the Beast, I have only seen the Lion King one which was horrible. As long as they keep the option to watch with or without then ill be happy

I wonder if they'll add THIS song as well?

Warning: contains dirty words!

I thought that the point of "American Idol" was that the winner would have what it takes to become a popstar . . . not the winner will be constantly crammed down our throats until we finally agree to accept them as a pop culture idol.

No real big deal because when i think about it, he's not a bad singer and i think his voice would fit in.

Clay Aiken's CD is readily available for $3 new in my area. Nice to see trash end up in the bins.

What's even worse is that he wasn't the winner...

Great. Now I won't be able to truthfully say I don't own anything that has him on it.

A question for those ragging on Clay Aiken...

Are you this much of an a**hole naturally or does it come with practice? - watch the attacks!

If you're not a fan, fine, that's your call, but no one is FORCING you to watch or enjoy this new song/segment of Aladdin. There's a reason it's called an EXTRA.

GOD NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why does Disney ruin good movies like this? I was nine years old when this movie came out, and this movie is part of my childhood and to see a new (and interesting) scene included into the movie with a crappy dumb ass singer like Clay Aiken!

I can't stand this ugly ugly ugly man, God why?

It's called "being Americans with the freedom to say whatever we want about whatever mediocre, bad-haired, jug-eared, flash-in-the-pan we want to," and there's not a thing you can do about it. Have a great day.

I read that Disney will finally be releasing Song Of The South, also featuring a new song. Enjoy the mellifluous three-part harmonies of director Spike Lee, Reverend Jesse Jackson, and famed attorney Johnnie Cochran singing the next Disney classic song, "Tar-what?!?"

Well I would kind of like to watch the deleted scene. But it is quite obvious they are cashing in on what is hot at the moment. Why? Money. It isn't about Clay's talent, no matter what the voices in your head tell you.

And this is exactly the point I'm trying to make. There's a fine line between having an opinion and just being rude. Never once did I state I was a Clay Aiken fan, but you decided to be rude anyway.

Perhaps they're responding to the sentence quoted..?

While you have a point about "Extras" being just that [lord knows I skip all those HORRID Raven "cover videos"], I guess it was overlooked thanks to your sarcastically rude hypothetical question.

Hate to burst your bubble but that's EXACTLY what a popstar is.

Am I missing something? Your first post in this thread calls people '*******s'. But *other* people are the rude ones? ooooookay...
