Shout! Factory stepping up into DVD Studio Elite?
Out of seemingly nowhere, Shout! Factory looks like their going to be a major player in the DVD market. Their Freaks & Geeks set was outstandings, releasing a solid doc like Easy Riders, Raging Bulls is great, and their Punky Brewster Season Box Set and SCTV collection should be good sellers. Plus they released Groucho Marx, Jack Parr, and Jamie Oliver discs.
Hopefully they continue to remain focused on a small, quality slate of releases. No need to go Anchor Bay on us and release a pile of hit or miss discs.

Without Shout! Factory, I probably never would have seen Freaks and Geeks. Has some other studio released it, without all the special features, I never would have bought it. Now it's one of my favorite shows. That in itself is enough to give them a place among the elite.

The Freaks and Geeks set is GREAT. Now, hopefully, they should do "The Wonder Years," because only they seem to have enough patience to secure all of the music rights.

And WKRP while they're at it!
Failing that, the "New" WKRP will suffice.
So yeah, get on that.
BTW, along the lines of a discussion about Criterion from a few weeks ago, is S!F located in L.A., NY, or elsewhere (like Anchor Bay is)? Just curious, and still scouting jobs in DVD out here in L.A.

I can't wait for You Bet Your Life Volume 2. Shout did a great job on the first volume.
Rhino has done a pretty good job too on DVD releases sans the final Transformer Box set where they messed up the numbering on the episodes on the DVD.
