  • The Iron Horse - Surprisingly good silent John Ford. 7/10
  • Show Boat - Liked some of the songs but became too sentimental as it went. 5/10
  • Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle - Ugh! 1/10


    Tuesday
  • Criss Cross - Contains all the hallmarks of film-noir. 7/10
  • Toll of the Sea - The first technicolor feature? 7/10
  • The General - The Buster Keaton classic. 9/10
  • The Kid - Chaplin's first feature. 8/10


    Wednesday
  • The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial - Decent, for a limited TV budget, and you can see the Altman touch. 6/10
  • Young Mr. Lincoln - Interesting story (unbelievable as it was) and somehow its almost a comedy. 7/10


    Thursday
  • 2001: A Space Odyssey - Currently my favorite film of all time. 10/10


    Friday
  • Woman of Tokyo - Good silent Ozu. 7/10
  • A Mother Should Be Loved - Not so good. 5/10


    Saturday
  • Blind Spot: Hitler's Secretary - Very little new information, presented in a very boring way. 3/10
  • Undercover Brother - Pretty amusing, even if this ground was sorta covered by Austin Powers. 6/10


    Sunday
  • The Only Son - Ozu's first 'talkie' and one of his best. 9/10
  • A Hen in the Wind - While I liked the direction, this film has some problems. 4/10

    decided to investigate my TV-on-DVD collection this week & this is what I found...

    Monday:
    X-Files Season 2 Disc 5 : End Game (I watched Colony on Sunday so I just had to keep on watching...)

    24 Season 1 Disc 1 : 0000hrs-0100hrs (watching this for the 1st time & i can already see why everybody's raving about it)

    Tuesday:
    X-Files Season 2 Disc 5 : Fearful Symmetry

    24 Season 1 Disc 1 : 0100hrs-0200hrs (would've kept on watching till the next hour if i didn't have to work the next day...)

    Wednesday:
    Van Helsing (in the local cineplex)

    wasn't able to watch any DVDs because wife wanted to pick a fight

    Thursday:
    No time to watch any DVDs... was busy making up with my wife for the fight last night...

    Friday:
    Van Helsing (again) in the cineplex - can't believe that i actually saw the same show twice in the same week in a cinema... can't remember the last time i ever did that...

    I had to fire a guy today so thats left me with hell-daze at work...not much time or energy to watch anything....

    I'll try to finish up my new Marx Bros. Collection tonight. last night I watched A Night At the Opera and it nearly made me cry...I laughed that hard. great stuff!
