News on WWE Chris Benoit DVD

It appears WWE has made recent offers to New Japan about purchasing old footage of Chris Benoit during his tour of Japan at many times in his career. WWE is hoping to get the footage for the upcoming Chris Benoit DVD that is scheduled for a July 1st release. At this point, neither side have come to terms.

I wonder if they'll change the Japanese commentary and replace it with the Coach

Recently the WWE has taken a downward turn. Don't think I'll buy any of the new DVDs.

The damn Coach = me considering not being a fan anymore.

WWE owns the WCW, AWA, old NWA, Georgia, Mid Atlantic, ECW and Smokey Mountain Wrestling libraries. They're close to or already have purchased the Stampede Wrestling library from the Harts. They're also looking at purchasing World Class Wrestling, St. Louis and Bill Watt's Mid South/UWF for a video on demand as well as a possible 24 hour wrestling channel.

As long as his memorial match for Owen Hart from Nitro against Bret Hart is on there, I'm buying it.

That is true, but the DVD are going to have a lot of old footage from when the WWE was good so it doesn't make sense to boycott the good stuff because the current stuff isn't.

1) First off, 2004 has been the best year for wrestling fans in YEARS. Yes, Smackdown has been horrible lately, but there are good things on the show, and RAW has been very solid as of late. Every month, something "great" has happened, with great matches here and there.

2) Even if you DON'T like WWE right now, for whatever reason, the DVDs they are releasing is mainly of old material. Classic matches, the best matches of the past few years, etc... What reason is there not to buy the Benoit DVD set? Or any of the other new DVDs?
