Is Ed Wood out on DVD?
I could of sworn it was never released on DVD but I've been wrong before. A friend of mine said he just ordered a copy off of eBay and want to know if I should laugh or be jealous.

Many copies made the street, I and plenty others here, have it (thanks in large part to our fellow DVDTalkers). That said... I would be VERY careful of using eBay for Ed Wood, the bootlegs are out there... Your friend may or may not receive a legit DVD.

As others have said, a special edition was recalled earlier this year before release:

More than a few copies slipped out to the public.

Yep, a few copies leaked out, and I have one, so be jealous, be VERY jealous. OF ME!!!! HAHAHHAAHAHAHAHAHA
If you want to get one that's legit, a good bet is the exchange forum on this site--all of the sellers/buyers I've dealt with on this site have been great. Prepare to pay around 40-50 bucks, though. If you love the film, it's well worth the cheddar.

I've heard of people still finding legit copies in small stores, so you may want to try one of the Mom & Pop stores, or even Blockbuster(where I found my copy). When I mentioned the recall to the sales clerk, they said they hadn't heard about it and unless they did they will continue to sell it.

Is this finally rereleased? Man...if they were trying to raise the bar of interest then it's a good plan. I'm interested. I would be calling all stores around if I thought it wouldn't be a waste of time.

No word on a rerelease yet.
I'm sure once it's out, it'll be all over the board.

I have no idea what they're waiting for; I'm just glad I've got mine.

I'm pretty sure the R1 release is the only one that includes the deleted scenes. What they have, if it's not the official R1 release, is more than likely a boot.
