Where to find Duel (1970) TV movie DVD fairly cheap? AKA Spielberg's first film

There are always a few copies on ebay but I don't feel like shelling out anywhere from $40-$100 on this DVD. I guess the story behind it is that it was scheduled for release last August but it was recalled a few days before it was scheduled to come out. I was curious if anyone know where to find this for fairly cheap (around $20-$30) or anyone has a copy to sell ;)

TIA :)

good luck finding a cheap copy. amazon had about a thousand copies left the week of the cancellation announcement, and thats how i got my copy. since i didn't like the movie, i traded it.

Sorry, but I don't think you're going to have much luck, unless you stumble on a copy in some pawn shop, thrift store, etc.

just keep watching all the ebay auctions for this one....eventually you'll get lucky and find one ending around $25-30.

I couldnt wait either, i actually paid $90 for mine.

"don't sit on the hood. That hood will dent. I told the kids not to get on the hood! Just see if you can bounce it loose, and I'll ... ah ... just bounce it loose."

If it's the very same disc, then one has to wonder why it was pulled to begin with!

Anyway, do you have a link on this story? I just canvassed "the usual suspects" and could find no information regarding this title.

Thanks!

i just read it yesterday ( in a rumour section).
i think it was a UK site, tho i checked dvdtimes and couldn't find it.

if i run across it again i'll drop the link here

a rumor that went around for why it was cancelled was because the lead actor lost a family member. and there were rumors that spielberg didn't release it because it was fullscreen while the oar for the european cut (the one on the dvd) was 1:85 widescreen.

Looks like it's up for pre-order at movietyme.com.
Anyone ever buy from them?
