Here's a link to a small discussion in the Movie Forum. Seems a few folks here saw the movie and wasn't impressed. One person thought it was okay. Click here
But, it might be your cup 'o tea.

I saw it in the theater and quite enjoyed it... not a classic, but if you like Mystery Science Theater 3000 and/or 50s scifi movies, you will enjoy it. It was one of those movies where my jaw hurt after from laughing and smiling so much.

It played for a week in Atlanta earlier this year at a Landmark theater. I didn't see the movie but I saw the trailer a couple of times, and it was terrific, the audience at first didn't know what they were seeing (myself included) but as it kept playing everyone got the joke and the laughter kept growing ...
I don't know if the trailer is available for viewing anywhere but you might be better off watching that and skip the movie. Sustaining the low-budget sci-fi film takeoff joke was probably easier over three minutes as opposed to 90.

I think that folks who grew up watching sci-fi films from the '50s--not just the bad ones, as mocked on MST3K, but all of them--have a greater appreciation for Lost Skeleton. I didn't grow up in the '50s, but I had a steady diet of those films in my youth (on UHF and at the navy-base theater, which showed them on Saturday mornings), and I loved Lost Skeleton.
My biggest complaint is that it went on too long. Then again, so did most of the films it lovingly lampoons.
I'm looking forward to the DVD. The movie's official web site is a hoot, and I'm hoping the DVD replicates that content.

It looks like it not only emulated the awful z-grade movies, but is actually one itself!
Even if it's a stinker, it looks worth checking out.
Of course, this is coming from someone who thinks Patch Adams is a worse movie than Manos: The Hands of Fate.

I'm with you. I never watched Mystery Science Theater 3000 because I hated the little talking heads. I wanted to watch the movie.
Have you seen White Gorilla? It's wonderful, with tigers in Africa, recently came out on DVD.
