Wow. This must be selling like hotcakes. I hope mine doesn't take that long. I pre-ordered as soon as it was available.

Phew, ordered from Deep Discount and it's on its way already. Glad I did - normally I wait until release day and pick it up at their outlet store, but I was too worried that they'd be out of stock and there's no way I was going to take a chance on missing this one!

Hopefully Best Buy will carry this.

Sorry for you guys that ordered from Amazon, but that looks like good news for more classic horror to be released.

If you check out Amazon's statement carfully, the delay only applies to the collection with the busts, not the individual two-disk sets.

I'm thinking about canceling my order with Amazon, as mine says the following.

Shipping estimate: May 10, 2004
Delivery estimate: May 21, 2004

I guess I'm one of the lucky ones: Amazon shipped my copy yesterday via Fedex Home (I also preordered this on 1/22/04 and used the free shipping option.)

In my experience, Amazon tends to overestimate the time involved. I've often received shipments from them on or before the original "estimated ship date."

Best Buy will have them. We got them in on Tuesday and they look really cool. Didn't even plan on picking them up, but since there's like 13 movies and the packaging is so nice, I decided to blind buy these babies. Don't get that much off the sale price though. For those interested, they'll be selling for $59.99 and they're in next week's ad so there should be a lot of them. I forget how many we got in total, but there's a mass display, which I wasn't expecting.

"blind buy"? As in, you've never seen the Universal horror classics?

Man, you're in for a treat. Some of the sequels are cheesy, but these are some of the greatest horror films every made.

I'm going to hold off on canceling my order for a few days, but if it isn't shipped by the time it's in stores, I will do so.

While this is a bit frustrating for me, I don't mind waiting what will probably be only a week or so for the set.

Additionally, the fact that Amazon has so many orders that they felt the need to post this 'warning' is actually great news -- and gives me renewed hope that we'll soon see Creature, Invisible Man, and Mummy sets.

Actually, I'd guarantee it if we weren't dealing with Universal. (AKA the most illogical studio currently in existence.)

Mine shipped yesterday via FedEx Home (which I suppose means I have to be here to sign for it or go pick it up). I ordered March 15, used free shipping and STL. Not exactly fair to those who ordered much sooner, but typical of Amazon (this happened to me with Warner Legends Set, which I preordered as soon as I could and got about a month late)

Will Best Buy and Circuit City have a limited number shipped? If this is like other Universal releases (like Scarface), they will have about 20 or 30 initially, then re-order and have more than they know what to do with in the long run.

I got to hold it in my hands today, but I couldn't buy it. It's really big and heavy and it was $79.99 at FYE, maybe on sale on Tuesday!

Check your local Borders on Tues. My store got them in.

I have it in hand right now. Received it from DDD. One MAJOR PROBLEM though. I have two loose disks. One of which is as scratched as it can get. Since I have two if these loose babies. I suspect there may be quite a few complaints over the loose disks.

I just checked my PayPal account (I check it daily just to make sure everything is in order) and the $50.39 for this set has just been charged to my account. I was rather currious about this, so I went to check my order for it at Amazon.com and to my amazement, it's now listed as "Shipment #1: Shipping Soon". I guess I'll be getting it before May 21st afterall!

This makes me glad that I never preorder DVD's. I will have mine on Tuesday while those who preordered will have to wait.

Well I'll be darned. I just got an email from Amazon saying that my order has already been shipped. so, unless it's going to take a month to get to me, it looks like I'll get it way before the end of May like the site said when I first placed the order.

Yeah, same here. I had the 'warning' message about a late May delivery... but it just shipped this morning. Looks like a lot of fuss over nothing.

This has nothing to do with late delivery, though, does it? I also doubt that online stores will be much better pricewise than some retail outlets. We shall see. I note that you omitted the price you are paying from your post.

With Share the Love, Amazon's price is $50.39 shipped. I imagine that most retail outlets are going to be closer to $60.

I was just saying that even if I get mine a bit late (which it turns out isn't the case, it shipped this morning), I was still more than likely paying less for it than you if you buy it in a store somewhere. I bought it on Amazon.com through the Share The Love Program, for a total of $50.39.

You were bragging about getting it early and saying this is why you don't preorder online, and I was just saying that even though you may get it before me, I'll have saved a few bucks.

I just went to UPS.com to check my order status, and I found the following very interesting. I'll be getting the set the day after the street date (hopefuly), and it weighs a bit more than I thought it would. Is that an exageration, or is that right on?

I ordered mine back in January at amazon and they still haven't shipped my order (showing as 'open'). I really wish they would ship out orders in the order they were placed.

got it...havent played any of the discs yet...but damn...this is one helluva package here! I think this will easily be one of the best releases of the year...

I placed my order on 4/22 and received shipping confirmation last night! I am so looking forward to this awesome set!

Mine shipped via UPS on Monday and has an expected arrival date of Wednesday (4/28). Not bad considering my original order date was 4/18.

So who is keeping the busts in the box? They look awfully cool in the box and currently thats the way Im displaying them...
