Well I'll be darned. I just got an email from Amazon saying that my order has already been shipped. so, unless it's going to take a month to get to me, it looks like I'll get it way before the end of May like the site said when I first placed the order.
A big thumbs up to Amazon from me!

This has nothing to do with late delivery, though, does it? I also doubt that online stores will be much better pricewise than some retail outlets. We shall see. I note that you omitted the price you are paying from your post.

I was just saying that even if I get mine a bit late (which it turns out isn't the case, it shipped this morning), I was still more than likely paying less for it than you if you buy it in a store somewhere. I bought it on Amazon.com through the Share The Love Program, for a total of $50.39.
You were bragging about getting it early and saying this is why you don't preorder online, and I was just saying that even though you may get it before me, I'll have saved a few bucks.
That's all.

I just went to UPS.com to check my order status, and I found the following very interesting. I'll be getting the set the day after the street date (hopefuly), and it weighs a bit more than I thought it would. Is that an exageration, or is that right on?
Scheduled Delivery: Apr 28, 2004
Weight: 6.00 Lbs

I ordered mine back in January at amazon and they still haven't shipped my order (showing as 'open'). I really wish they would ship out orders in the order they were placed.

I ordered the Monster Legacy Collection on February 8 from Amazon.com (w/STL, great deal). It shipped out on April 25 from the Nevada warehouse--always a swift journey from there to my house--so I expect my package'll be here tomorrow or the next day.
I'm really excited about this release. It looks to be a real killer set, especially since the extras from the Universal Classic Monsters boxset were kept and this time they put all of the franchise films from the Dracula, Frankenstein & The Wolf Man onto the Monster Legacy Collection. I missed out on the Classic Monsters set, so I'll be glad to finally have [i]D

I'm especially lookin' forward to The Bride of Frankenstein.
Reviews that I've seen have been positive; sounds like Universal (for once
) really did right by some of their classics. I, too, hope this Monster Legacy Collection sells really well and that Universal will release the next Monster Legacy Collection at this year's end. We'll see...

I pre-ordered this set(with STL and free shipping) on 3/15 and it shipped via UPS yesterday morning (street date). Now my only concern is whether or not loose disks are being scratched to hell in transit as I write this. I stopped by a local Wal-Mart yesterday and happen to see the individual DVD sets of Dracula, Frankenstein and Wolfman. For the heck of it, I picked up the DVD sets and gave them a little shake. I'd say over 1/3 of them had loose disks...not good.
