That's the date that that Fox is lowering the price on the boxed sets. Amazon (and other retailers) put price reductions into their system this way.

In Moscow every season costs 110-190 U.S. dollars. But for loyal customers there is a slight discount. Of course, if you buy all seasons at once.

Ditto. I have been waiting to buy them, but its been killing me. I ended doing a trade for S1. I want the rest of the seasons, but not at what they are asking now.

hopefully it will be a good price.

I couldn't believe the other day the local B&M chain here in Sydney was selling the season sets for $80...that's about $58 US...too bad I had them all already

I noticed this last week myself. All of the online places listed the seasons as being released on 5-11. I was wondering the same thing. I did notice that the prices were significantly lower. Most online places are now selling each season for $70-$75. Woohoo!! I can finally start buying them again. I only have the first 2 so far and seasons 3 & 4 are my favorites .

I am so glad that they lowered the price on the seasons...even though I already paid between $100-$140 for each god damn season! ARGH! Oh well...least I dont have to pay the $120 that I paid for S9...nearly half the price now!

Well I got my 1-7 all used (in excellent condition) for super cheap anyway, but maybe now I can get season 8. Yay! Maybe since more people will pick these more talk may happen about the movie. A girl can dream anyway...

I have always wanted to pick these sets up. Maybe now I will finally be able, but that all depends on how low the prices go.

I too have been holding off on buying these because of the ridiculously high prices. Looking forward to the price drop.

I might get a few of these. I enjoyed the shows I watched way back when. Is there a season(s) that is generally considered the best by fans?

General consensus is that the earlier seasons are better than later seasons. Were I dipping into X-Files for the first time, I'd start with the first season and go from there.

Most people liked the first five seasons, and then the show began a slide in the next two, and bottomed out in the final two.
