Is BELOW Widerscreen of Fullscreen??

Okai,

Amazon states it's 1.33, while dvdplanet/dvdempire says it's 1.85. While the one I rented here is fullscreen.

And there's only 1 release of this movie. I'm more than confused.

Anyone can give me some light?

If you're referring to the David Twohy film, the DVD is presented in anamorphic widescreen at an aspect ratio of 1.85:1.

Mine really shows in 1.33 full frame. This is really weird. Yeah, the cult movie from David!

What are your DVD player's settings? Sure the screen isn't just stretched vertically?

You also might want to check to make sure your player is set to "4x3 letterbox", if you're using a 4x3 set. A very small number of discs are authored to alter the image unless your player is expressly set to letterbox/widescreen. I've watched the DVD twice on my rig, and mine is definitely widescreen, at least.

Widescreen here too... and I might add... a surprisingly great transfer. PQ =

One of the best transfers I've ever seen.

Might be an issue with flagging and certain players. I have a couple of widescreen discs that play fullscreen on an old Panny I own. I noticed it with Songs from the Second Floor and Bird with the Crystal Plumage. The sides were cropped off. They play fine on my other players though.

Danm, I opened it with my computer, and it's in anamorphic widescreen very good transfer. But on my TV, it's huge and it's big square everywhere!

Maybe it's flagged wrong or something.. ouf.

EDIT: works now, reconfigured the player.

Set your DVD player for "4:3 Letterbox" rather than "4:3 Standard" and you'll fix the problem. The "Standard" setting should never be used under any circumstances.
