New Battlestar Galactica?

I didn't watch the new Battlestar Galactica when it ran on Sci-Fi. Was it any good and when can we expect it on DVD? (Gosh I feel like a newbie!)

I didn't bother taping it because I thought they would replay it over and over again. I guess I screwed up. I did see most of it and thought it was pretty good. I spend alot of time on the SciFi channel anyway. I like BG anyway and plan on picking up the older version on DVD when I get some free cash.

I am a fan of the original, and I enjoyed the new one a lot. And I did tape it.

There's been talk about the mini coming out on DVD. If anything, I think the popular opinion is if it's going to be released, they'll do it to coincide with the start of the new BSG series on SciFi.

You did know they were making a series out of it, right?

Sci-Fi has picked it up as a regular show for at least 13 episodes. I would suspect that a DVD of the mini would come out either (a) right before the new show airs or (b) right after, in a box with all the episodes.

But you can also bet that Sci-Fi will play the crap out of the miniseries as the new show approaches. You'll have plenty of chances to see this...

Was it good? Well, reaction was mixed. Personally, I expected it to be absolute trash and found it to be better than expected. It was watchable, well-made, etc. But I really can't get over my frustration that they decided to 'reinvent the wheel' instead of making this Battlestar:TNG or something.

Not terrible, but nothing I'd watch again. I preferred the original show.
