circus world ever?

I've been trying to find Circus World with John Wayne. has this movie ever been released on dvd or is there any pending release dates for it? I've tried doing a search for this and didn't find what I was looking for. any information would be greatly appreciated.

This is one of several epics produced by Samuel Bronston, including EL CID, 55 DAYS IN PEKING and FALL OF THE ROMAN EMPIRE which have not been issued on DVD in the USA (incomplete versions have been released in other countries). USA rights are held by Miramax, part of the Disney group, but unfortunately they have not given any news about a DVD release.

I was surprised that Fall Of The Roman Empire was not released to coincide with Gladiator. They are the same story.

I think that the only place to get Circus World on DVD right now is Japan.

...true enough... but it is the whole, complete, uncut, unshortened, unexpurgated, etc. film in all other respects... (Note: in "the good old days" so-called "roadshow" films (e.g. The Great Ziegfeld, Marie Antoinette, Since You Went Away, Raintree County, West Side Story) used to be shown only in a very limited number of selected theaters, in a very few US cities, and - afaik - not at all anywhere else...)

I feel VERY lucky to have the French version converted over to Region 1....widescreen and in 6-track stereo.
