Just saw that the Samurai Trilogy is coming out in a Box Set. I have the original Criterion release of the movies (adapted from my all-time favorite book). Just curious if there was anything different in the box set, aside from the box of coarse.

No difference. From the Criterion website:
Criterion to Release The Samurai Trilogy
Criterion is planning to release The Samurai Trilogy , a single-package collector's set containing the entirety of Hiroshi Inagaki’s classic three-film saga. Starring the incomparable Toshiro Mifune, The Samurai Trilogy details the odyssey of samurai Musashi Miyamoto (Mifune) as he develops from unruly youth to enlightened warrior in war-torn 17th-century Japan. The Samurai Trilogy gift set will include Samurai I: Musashi Miyamoto, Samurai II: Duel at Ichijoji Temple, and Samurai III: Duel at Ganryu Island, on sale together at a reduced price. The single-disc releases of these three titles continue to be available separately, featuring the same transfers and disc content as the DVDs in the collector's set. Look for The Samurai Trilogy in May of this year.
