Anybody Watching An Easter Themed Movie This Weekend?

Every Easter weekend I always get in the mood to watch an old religious epic. This year I'm finally going to see Cecil B. Demille's 1927 version of KING OF KINGS. Sadly, it's not available on DVD yet, but I DVR'ed it off of satellite. EASTER PARADE is also not available yet, but there are a lot of old religious epics on DVD and other, more subtle, non-period films like CHANGING LANES, which takes place on Good Friday. Anybody watching any Easter themed movies this year?

The closest thing I have to a religious epic is Dogma so maybe I'll watch that.

Even though it aired on TV last week, I'll probably watch The Ten Commandments.

LOL! I saw that one coming. How about THE EXORCIST, THE DEVIL'S RAIN, BROTHERHOOD OF SATAN, etc.

I also Tivo'd "The King of Kings" last night. Never seen it before. I'll watch that sometime this weekend if I have time.

The obvious Easter theme is zombie movies. Jesus is the original zombie, after all.

One Easter afternoon, a few years ago, I watched Night of the Lepus on TNT. Took me a few minutes to make the connection.

Isn't The Passion of the Christ a Good Friday themed movie?

I think my favorite Jesus movie is ROBOCOP, so I'll probably watch that again.

I would watch 'Life of Brian', but I'm holding out for the theatrical re-release at the end of the month.

Same reason I didn't watch it directly after seeing 'The Passion'.

Probably be the Matrix Revolutions for me. That and Dogma are the closest things to Jesus movies that I have

Ten Commandments is the only religious themed one, but I have sort of a general DVDs that take place around the holidays weekend in mind, with classics like Planes, Trains, and Automobiles, When Harry Met Sally, and either Die Hard or Christmas Vacation on the docket.

Probably Ben-Hur.... but maybe the silent version this year.

My family and I usually watch the '59 version on Easter, but it's been ages since we've seen the '25 silent version.

We're probably going to try to do back-to-back showings of the Jesus Christ Superstar movies this weekend.
