Ten Commandments SE - comparison to previous release?

How does the new Ten Commandments special edition compare to the original release? Is it merely the same transfer of the movie, with added extras?

I heard it was the same transfer. I'm still going to upgrade because of the commentery which is said to provide some outstanding info.

Yeah the commentary was pretty informative. I have to watch the movie again without the commentary. And the documentaries was also excellent. However, I would suggest trying to get a version with a double alpha case instead of this other one I got which is just horrible.

I believe that the SE is the director's cut which includes previously unseen footage of the 11th and 12th commandments (they had to edit them out for time)

Dude, April 1st was two days ago.

I was disappointed that they couldn’t fit the movie on one disc. But I managed to sell the old one for even money.

1.85:1 vs the previous 1.66:1, which should satisfy OAR purists.

Yeah I bought it the day after it came out, opened it up and was pretty disapointed to see no insert. I've from the group who says that inserts are pointless unless there's something informative contained on them or within them, but I was expecting to see a booklet with some info on the movie and such included, since it is such a classic.

But doesn't that imply that it's not the same transfer? (The original was presented at 1.77:1, by the way.)
