WWE DVD news: Bret Hart DVD in the works, ECW pushed back

It seems at long last the WWE are getting to work on an DVD dedicated to the "Hitman" Bret Hart at long last. The DVD will most probably follow the same format as the Ric Flair DVD, but it is yet unknown whether Bret Hart has any input on the project. There is no set date for release, but expect it possibly to be done and dusted for Christmas 2004.

Also the news on the latest ECW DVD, is that it will be pushed back also to the end of the year, so it will allow the WWE to work on the Hall of Fame DVD set for a 6/1 release. The DVD will contain the whole HOF induction ceremony from WrestleMania weekend, plus classic matches, footage and comments from all the inductees.

There are also plans for a double-disc Eddie Guerrero set due for 9/28, and also for November - a DVD dedicated to Rob Van Dam. Chris Benoit's DVD set will be released in July.

I will own all of these DVDs.

As for Bret, it's been confirmed that he would have a part in it for months, so no worries there.

Yes!!!

Maybe there will be a bonus match of his favorite wrestler (and mine) the Dynamite Kid.

One can dream.

Or better yet, they could dig up one of the rare matches that they worked together in tag matches, and singles, from Stampede (if they could aquire the right to do so).

Ok...now I'm REALLY dreaming.

Both of these guys, Benoit and Dynamite, are in my top five favorites of all time. Heck, over at the wrestling message boards that I post at I have this .GIF that I created as my avatar, heh.

One of the best matches I ever viewed was Dynamite vs Bret Hart on Prime Time Wrestling...circa 87 or so, taped at the Capital Centre.

The match was unreal and I watched it over and over and over again...and the amazing thing is that those two put on matches like that every night.

Man I would love the WWE to put out a Bulldogs DVD.

The Hitman set is something that I've been wanting for a long time. Hopefully they'll have Bret come in and do the same stuff Flair did for his set. Can't F'N wait!

Moving back the ECW set really pisses me off, because this was a def buy for me in June. Also, it kills most hope of ECW's return anytime soon.

A Benoit double DVD is something that I've wanted, but didn't ever think would happen. Looks like they're really into cashing out on his title run. Hopefully this means he will still be champ in July! My favorite wrestler, so a definite buy. Hopefully either this or the Bret set will have the Owen Memorial Match from Nitro.

RVD and Guerrero DVDs will be awesome, especially with the inclusion of older matches. A DVD full of WWE RVD matches will be crap, but half and half with ECW matches and I will be frothing at the mouth for this one.

Hitman, RVD, Guerrero, and ECW...looks like a great Christmas for me!

Would be great to combine the dvd release with a special appearance by Brett on Raw allowing him to say goodbye to the fans

The Bret/ Dynamite match you're thinking of happened on 9/14/85 and was released on the Coliseum Video "The British Bulldogs". There are some really good Bulldogs comps floating around as well as more Dynamite singles ones.

Damn that is actually on that tape...I have searched around for it but most of the prices I have seen are insane.

God, I hope they do not show any matches Bret had with DDP, considering all Bischoff did when he acquired Hart in WCW was for himt o be DDP's punching bag! I mean I am a dedicated Hart fan, and he had his worst loss record from DDP in WCW and WWE/F combined (jobbed to DDP in like 50 matches from 1997 to 1999, house show sincluded) , and all he did in WCW was job to DDP!

Where are you getting this from? Bischoffs an idiot and Bret was in his decline but they were still pushing him, I doubt he was losing to DDP on a regular basis.

Dude, havent you been following Hitman"s career? In WCW, after being a face, and feuding with Flair and NWO and Curt Henng (Mr Perfect), he joined the nWO, crippled Rick martel, then jobbed to guys like Luger, Booker T, then started to become literally DDP's punching back, on ppv, house shows, etc. It was pathetic!
