Originally posted by Shannon Nutt Actually, I'd like to see Lucas put this into the ending scenes of "Episode III" Also, I'm pretty sure I remember Hamill said in a Hyperspace chat that he was participating on the DVDs. Maybe he's just in the docu's, but I'm pretty sure we'll see him. |

1 dvd for the extra's doesn't sounds like a lot. I'm looking forward to this set.

He thought the films were incredibly silly. He was happy to cash the checks, but upset at how this character overshadowed his entire career. He has mentioned that he throws away all Star Wars fan mail before even reading. If Alec Guiness thought Star Wars was silly, he would have never participated in ESB and ROTJ. Guiness was proud of his work in Star Wars. It just pissed him off that nobody remembered him for his early work, onyl for being Obi-Wan! |
Well I would contend that only a fool wouldn't remember him from such films as Oliver Twist, Bridge on the River Kwai (his best role), Lawrence of Arabia, and The Ladykillers. I have to scratch my head at any jackass who when asked who Guiness is can only remember Kenobi.
Give me a break. |
Who's more foolish...the fool or the fool who follows him?

Question: Luke Skywalker appears as a character in the "Star Wars: Jedi Academi".. and I could swear Mark Hamill is doing the voice. Does that mean he's distancing form the role/series?

Deleted threadcrap. You know better. - Static

I'm still a little disappointed about no regular editions, but the extras should help make up for it a little. They sound pretty good!

How many different Star Wars threads are there!? Shouldn't there be a sub-forum for goodness sake???

Deleted. Do me a favor and report threadcraps you see, instead of quoting them (which means I have to delete them twice) and responding to them. - Static

Originally posted by Terrell You are right that he was resentful that he was only known for being Obi-Wan. But you are dead wrong when you claim he thought the films were silly. The point is that he regretted participating in the films, aside from the financial aspect. I personally doubt that Guinness would have done a commentary for *any* film (he wasn't a fan of revisiting his past work), but he definitely wouldn't have done one for SW. |

Honestly, I don't really like how there are so many audio tracks, along with commentaries on each movie. It seems more bits will be taken away from picture quality. I wish they would have kept more bits spared for picture as they did with Indy. Indy had two 2.0 foreign tracks in addition to a 5.1 English track I believe.
I don't know, maybe it won't make a difference. |
I'm so glad we got a video game demo on here instead of deleted scenes.........Please don't say "well, maybe there aren't any" because we all know that the Behind the Magic CD Rom had 2 of them. These better not be all the specs.

I'm buying this DVD for three reasons and three reasons only!
- Star Wars - Empire Strikes Back - Return of the Jedi Other than that, I don't care what extras they include. I've seen a ton of those extras anyway. However, I'll take 4 hours of quality extras over 15 hours of fluff bullsh*t! So bring it on. Besides, the official spec have not been anounced, and this is not in all likelihood the definitive release of these films. |
In case mine was the thread crap, I will add this: I think the cover for this dvd package is insanely good, and I'm not even that much of a fan. It makes me want to buy it, which I will, and that's saying a lot. The back, though, I don't really care much for since it looks like a hockey mask with the way the eye part is shown flatly in the light...... anyway.... :)
