Muppet Treasure Island is full-screen only.

Think I might pick up the three listed for the 3 for $20 deal. Not really anything else in that list that I'm particularly interested in.

The only version of Muppets Take Manhattan I own came with cereal, and it's full-screen. Buying the proper version will let me destroy that abomination. I would just give it to my little cousin, but I don't want to start him off on the wrong foot.

Uh, Is the 3/20 deal @ BB? If so, when does it expire? I didn't get a Sunday paper.

Treasure Island and Christmas Carol are full frame.

I think Muppets from Space is widescreen.

It's easy to remember. The ones distributed by Columbia Tri-Star -- The Muppet Movie, Great Muppet Caper, Muppets Take Manhattan, and Muppets from Space -- are all in widescreen.

The ones distributed by Disney -- Muppet Christmas Carol and Muppet Treasure Island -- are in fullscreen only. Even though Disney released both of these in widescreen on laserdisc.

All the more reason to pick up these movies while you can. Disney (aka Eisner) just bought the rights to the Muppets. Not sure of their plans but future versions will probably be like Treasure Island and Christmas Carol.

So, is it safe to assume that we won't get better versions of the three original movies?

I would really like to pick them up, but the reviews here seem to have a lackluster support for the transfers and audio.

These aren't going to knock your socks off, but I thought they were fine. And, to get all 3 of them for $20? That's a no-brainer. Pick 'em up, you won't be disappointed.

At Best Buy it's only $5.99.

With the first three being $6.67 each this week (3 for $20), that's a bunch of Muppets at a sweet price!
