Star Trek: Generations DVD???

Has anyone heard any news on a release date for the SE DVD?

I hear news occationally about Paramount wanting to release First Contact by the end of the year. I would think if they plan on releasing First Contact for a late Q4 release that Generations would be released around July.

Anyone?? Bueller....Bueller?

A Star Trek: Generations & First Contact rerelease with special editions similar to those bestowed upon the six original crew Star Trek films gets a greenlight from me. I'd pick them up in a heartbeat.

I'd get them as well, Insurrection I couldn't care about (unless there's a load of deleted scenes which make the movie a lot better)

First Contact and Nemesis (eventually) for me. Unless Generations has some added footage that makes it a better movie!

I will get the remaining 4 films even though Insurrection is the weakest of the 4. I have to finish my collection.

Me too. I caught the last hour of Nemesis on Showtime or something and I thought the space battle was damn good. Bout as good as the Khan battle, if not better. I know..I know...blasphemy, but com'on, it was damn cool to see those two ships going at it.

I'd get all four just to be a completist. I didn't much care for Insurrection, even though it had an intruiging premise. I know a lot was cut out including a flashback to a young Rhu'Afo (I'm sure I misspelled that) who is actually credited in the theatrical version even though he never shows up. Maybe a special edition could make it better.

As for Nemesis, it's a lot better than people say. Not the best Trek film but certainly not the worst. It had great action sequences and a good sense of fun. All that was missing were more character moments. Like between Picard and mini-Picard. Also, I would have prefered to have seen Lore rather than the poorly named B-4. I know the good doctor liked whimzical names when he named his droids but B-4 is a little lame compared to Lore and Data. Anyhoo, I'd get a re-release of this movie as is or in an extended format.

Generations could use the 30 minutes that were cut. Good film but it felt more like an episode from the show. I would also love to see in the deleted scenes the original way Kirk's death was shot. I've always been curious about what was changed.

As for First Contact, I'll take either a theatrical, extended and/or director's cut. I really like this movie.

I heard when Nemesis was released that Paramount said they wouldn't give Nemesis an SE treatment.

......But then again, this is Paramount we are talking about here & we all know how they LOVE to milk the Trek universe for every penny they can!

Yeah, I remember reading that Generations was going to be a late 3rd quarter special edition release. Hopefully it'll stick. We've already got one Star Trek release this year, so there might be one more but I doubt we will get First Contact til next year at the earliest.

That's not what I heard. I heard its entirely possible for a extended Nemesis SE release.

I wouldn't mind seeing Kirk's original death scene myself.
