Shaolin Soccer Region 0 anamorphic?

Does anyone know for Shaolin Soccer?

Heard Hero (dts version) is 16x9 and will get that. So if Shaolin Soccer is 16x9, I'll get that.

Thank you Rypro.

Saw across the box cover said Widescreen. But nothing else about it being 16x9. So I wasn't sure.

Bought the VCD version back when and enjoyed it and looking to upgrade since I have a widescreen HDTV now.

Now if they would only produce a 16x9 version of Stormriders and A Man Called Hero.

I've noticed that alot of HK discs from Universe don't really say things like "anamorphic" or "enhanced for widescreen TVs" on the packaging. Non anamorphic titles just say "letterboxed" on the back of the packaging, while anamorphic titles like Shaolin Soccer has a little "Widescreen" logo. I'm not sure if this is still the case with Universe's newer releases.

And yes, Rypro's right, the Shaolin Soccer disc doesn't play that great on some players. It freezes alot on one of my players (a cheap one, admittedly) but works fine on my others.

it certainly is anamorphic. dts track isn't bad for what i believe is not an "official" release. but i could be wrong. decent little movie.

the only difficulty i have is with disk directory navigation. play and arrows to move functions do not work and i've found this problem to be consistent after three viewings. this only occurs once when i start up the disk.

to play the movie, i have to use the "menu" key on my remote. once i finish or stop the movie and return to directory, i then am able to navigate just like nothing happened. strange. anyway, beware ...

Is this the one that has the really bad spelling on subtitles in english? My friend let me borrow his copy which was a R0 and it was horrible! Half the words were misspelled or not even used correctly. All your base are belong to us.

I'm not sure what version you have, but the R0 disc from Universe is an official release.

It skips a lot on my Sony dvd player. A little on my Daewoo. But no problems on any dvd-rom drive.
